Some viable critisism in this thread, we are planning to do alot more, but all of this was on short notice. We will work on everything and welcome discussion from Monday onwards.

Thank you.
Good start, look forward to your follow up.

I think they will eat the loss. Moving forward Stars should revise their statement on what they intend to do with the extra money saved by these rb cuts.... as the explanation was rather weak. Running Coop's are profitable ventures for Stars and in no way a gift to consumers. When run well they are mutually beneficial.

I don't see any hypocrisy. The complaint isn't about Stars seeking to maximise revenue per se. There were no complaints when they increased from zero to the dominant poker site by attracting players with good software/service/economics. No, the complaint it is about the way they abuse their semi-monopoly and use underhand methods (like hiding rake) to do so. I would be equally critical of regs who used scummy methods (like multi-accounting).

What conceivable reason do you, and other critics itt, have to take stars side on this?

Sorry you don't get that effective collective action generally requires that those who cross the line face some consequences. That you think a question about what might be done, beyond name-calling is "absurdly stupid" only exposes your ignorance in such matters*.

Poker players excel at name calling; they are not so good at collective action.

OP deserves a medal for his work in this thread. He has posted there will be follow-up.

(*Refusing to work (or play) with "scabs" may not fit your experience, but that's the sort of measure that discourages scabbing. Let's take PlayerScab for example .... why not sit out whenever he sits down in a cash game and refuse him action and tell him why ?*)

That's presumably because the truth is they're putting it in their pockets. Just the latest in a long line of money grabs.

I am clueless, so I am making a conclusion based on the fact that a boycott is being organized.

If the grocery store where you shop raises their prices, do you:

A. Protest and organize a boycott with the goal of getting the store to lower their prices to a level you think is reasonable.

or

B. Take your business to another store.

Since girafganger et al have chosen option 'A', it would seem that they have concluded that there is no other equivalent place for them to take their business.

35 min before the starting time of the tourney, 6 players are registered. It should run. Will be fun to watch it. And there are at least 33 gtd in sattys.

Doubt there will be any overlay. There's enough people with deep pockets that won't resist the ev.

Will be really surprised if there are less than 200-250 entries

Re: High Stake Regs Boycotting the $5200 Turbo Series PSKO on Sunday

Gtd is 150 players to reg. There are 2 re-entries so it should reach gtd.

Rake on some 6/9/18/45 players $3.5 and under SNG is over 10% and this is sooo wrong.

Re: High Stake Regs Boycotting the $5200 Turbo Series PSKO on Sunday

The only thing this proves is that Stars knows where the equilibrium is and clearly they still have room to push with more penny pinching if a 5k still runs and covers it's guarantee even when most high stakes regs don't play it.

Re: High Stake Regs Boycotting the $5200 Turbo Series PSKO on Sunday

Did some of the people who said they would boycott end up playing in it? Or is the poker economy too big for even this sizable number of regs to make any difference?

Re: High Stake Regs Boycotting the $5200 Turbo Series PSKO on Sunday

A lot of the entrans are from satties and from people which wouldnt play this tournet if theres wasnt a boycot aka they play it cuz beast mode regs will not .I thinked that it would overlay but the guarantie wasnt that big for a 5200 buy in series tournament ,i guess thats why they reduce the rewards so they can boost its guarantie for 2020 Kappa.
