I know Paul pretty well, played with him quite a bit in NY and he says that for a change ESPN got it right. If she was just a completely unknown player not shilling for Pokernews or trying to make a career in poker media it might not have been the end of the world but she is supposed to know better.

Yeah I've sat with Paul several times on the AC tourney circuit before I saw that clip and, while I can't vouch for him off the felt, he's always been very likable at the table. He hasn't gotten out of line, I've never seen him call clock, berate a player, etc. When I saw that ep I felt bad because it was a guy I recognized and I know him as a player who exhibits good etiquette (in my experience). And it was a crucial decision.

I think its fairly obvious that you dont play live a whole lot, because to say that because one guy said something after the hand, that made it right. WHat you dont see here is:

1. How long he was actually deliberating his move

2. What he was saying or doing that was edited out

3. Has he taken a long time before making simple plays.

4. Do these two have a history from earlier

Without any of this knowledge, you cant really say there is no defense. And if you played live more frequently, you would know that stuff like this happens.

i am really sorry to ask, and I don't mean to be a smartass about this, but who is Tiffany Michelle, and why do I care if she is playing the main event or not. I have never heard of this person.

Like a lot of other people, she got lucky and finished deep in the ME last year. She attracted attention due to her gender and various things that made her a little notorious.

She had worked for Poker News reporting WSOP ME hands the summer before, and they decided she was a great prospect to stake in the 2008 ME. Part of the staking agreement was that she would wear Poker News gear, but she made additional money wearing gear for some crooked poker site over it.

She then came off as a real jerk/bitch on TV and apparently to some people in the tournament. I don't think calling a clock is so awful, and we don't know the full circumstances, but there were other things.

Now she didn't win enough so she is set for life or anything, and she probably had to give up some of it as part of her staking agreement.

I assume she doesn't have the $10K and/or doesn't think playing the ME would be a good investment. I assume Poker News is not going to stake her again after what happened last time.
