Lol wat on earth are you blabbing about this is a discussion about whether Harrington’s book on hold em mtts is still good/relevant not whether people who talk sht on the internet have life experience

But if someone has literally never played a poker tournament before and has less than I’d say 100 ish hours of poker experience the book did a pretty decent job of explaining for a beginner.
If you’re only playing advanced pros constantly, I’d say you have a point. But the reality is, MTTs are filled with rec and/or new players who do not play GTO, some who think they know GTO but don’t play it properly, and some who do not know any advanced strategy. Reading books like this can help any player of any level better understand how their opponents think of the game and adjust, if necessary.

Came across this post and was wondering, are any of his other books available on any other audio formats? Disappointing that this is the only one on Audible.

Not sure, but I found this for 99 cents if you just need something short to listen to in the meantime.

This was a very good book at the time. It's outdated to pretty much anyone that posts on 2p2 regularly but it's still a pretty good first book if people are new to tourneys.

absolutely amazing book, made me a winning player straight away after reading it and certainly one big reason of why I became a professional mtt player.
It's silly to comment and compare different eras. It's like trashing Capablanca because he didn't play as many engine moves as Magnus Carlsen.
Also any of the truly greats in their profession you never hear disrespecting the people that came before them and paved the way. They have the upmost respect for the history of their profession. And this book for sure is part of poker history.
Don't know if Dan Harrington still plays Poker but hope he is doing great

Definitely a well written book that is probably still a good resource for beginners. Part 1 is probably outdated as it deals mostly with postflop and solvers have really accelerated postflop theory.

Part 2 maintains its relevance even today. Even though no one really uses M anymore to describe their stack size, we use big blinds now, but the concepts about being aggressive with a short stack and not letting yourself get blinded away is a lesson that many recs today have never really learned.

Hi Everyone:

Just thought I would throw this in.

Harrington on Hold 'em: Volume I, as far as I can tell, is still the best selling poker tournament book. An that's actually a reason to read it since it'll give you an idea as to how many of your tournament opponents will be playing.
