Harrah's Issues WSOP Code of Player Conduct (WSOP FT in Nov. pt 2) Harrah's Issues WSOP Code of Player Conduct (WSOP FT in Nov. pt 2)

I'd been waiting to start a new thread on the final table delay of the WSOP Main Event final table as Jeffrey Pollack had mentioned there would be a new Code of Player Conduct. It's been out for a couple of weeks now and to be honest I'm a tad underwhelmed. Here it is, in full:

Quote:
1. The competitive integrity of all tournament play at the World Series of Poker is paramount. All participants must adhere to the spirit and letter of the official rules of the WSOP which forbid play or any action that is illegal, unethical or constitutes cheating or collusion in any form.

2. WSOP tournament officials will penalize any act that, in the sole and absolute discretion of tournament officials, is inconsistent with the rules of the tournament.

3. Anyone found to have engaged in or attempted to engage in any act that tournament officials believe in their sole and absolute discretion compromises or could compromise the competitive integrity of the WSOP will be subject to sanctions imposed by tournament officials. The nature and extent of the sanctions imposed shall be in the sole and absolute discretion of tournament officials and may include, but shall not be limited to the following:
• FORFEITURE OF CHIPS
• FORFEITURE OF PRIZE MONEY
• EJECTION FROM THE TOURNAMENT
• LOSS OF PRIVILEGE TO PARTICIPATE IN FUTURE WSOP EVENTS
• EXCLUSION FROM ENTERING THE PREMISES OF APPLICABLE HARRAH’S ENTERTAINMENT PROPERTIES.

4. Any and all violations of this Code of Player Conduct may be publicly disclosed in an effort to deter future violations and to assist other poker tournaments in identifying players who engage in play that is illegal or unethical or constitutes cheating or collusion in any form.
The only thing that seems new is point 4, but I'd assume any sort of controversy would become public knowledge anyways and tournament directors would then at their discretion allow those players to participate.

Can Harrahs eject themselves from the tournament?

I think it's sufficient to address the conduct violations NVG seems to be so concerned about. Really, point 3 kind of covers everything and allows every possible penalty: "ANY act that officials believe compromises the integrity is subject to penalties."

That seems like a pretty satisfactory blanket rule to me. Exactly how the TDs enforce (or even find out about) violations will be the drama of the day come final table time.

I'm a little disapointed to be honest.

Sure, it's a blanket policy, but if someone (e.g. the chip leader) gets DQ'd from the FT, I'm certain there will be an insta-lawsuit, and possible further stays/delays to the final table.

Not to mention other problems.
