Harrah's & the WSOP Big Improvement Harrah's & the WSOP Big Improvement

The last few years have seen a lot of bashing on Harrah's for the way they ran the WSOP.

In retrospect, it appears they just needed to "learn and adapt", which they have done a great job of.

Separating out the sat and cash rooms has made a huge difference.

They just started the 4th largest live tournament field ever and it seemed to go off fairly smoothly.

Oh...and don't worry about CR signing up too many players...I didn't even notice their banner or name until I was already out of the sat room and thought to look for it.

At this point, it looks like it will be a shame if the investment bankers start to sell off assets (which you know is coming) and divest the WSOP. It will, also, be a shame if the TV ratings continue to slip for ESPN making the WSOP brand worth less to the now private shareholders.

What is CR?

Anyway, I believe it's Caesar's Entertainment not Harrah's anymore. They'll probably sell of some casinos and concentrate on Caesar's brand and also new brands such as Margaritaville casinos.

IIRC, when this was announced here on NVG, some said that it would make games harder/make it harder for them to win/etc, etc.

Watching the videos is one thing. But both understanding and then actually applying what is said in the videos is harder for most losing/break even players than most NVG chicken littles know. It's not like the videos are "STEP 1: DO THIS IN THIS SITUATION" because poker's not like that. And anyone signing up for CR or any other site that they just found out about from promotion at WSOP are probably looking for the "guaranteed to win" system that doesnt exist.

Exactly my thoughts....when I walked through for the first time, it was clear that they had learned from their mistakes and adapted, which most importantly signaled that they were committed to generating a quality product for the players. Props to Harrah's for getting it right, after taking a justifiable beating for their efforts last year...
