here's an archive of 50 episodes of a show called Big Poker Sundays Haralobob did with Scott Huff, they were a fun listen back in the day and give you sense of Bobs personality, he never struck me as arrogant, just dry humor and quick as a whip

Oh wow, nice to know that's out there. I revived my pro account on Dropbox for work reasons, which also means I now have room to share old PokerRoad, PokerWire, Circuit, Two Jacks, etc if/when people ask for them. But for BPS, I'll just send people to that link.

The book was great, the movie was actually pretty bad. Playoffs are fun as hell to watch but a total crapshoot.

The A's are run more intelligently than almost every team in baseball and have been for a long time.

I never read the book but the movie was great. It had enough mass appeal that someone who doesn't like or follow baseball could still enjoy the movie.

Here's a Haralabos story from 10-15 years or so ago. Haralabos rents a lamborghini, but they want him to pay some outrageously high daily insurance rate on it. He offers to post the total value of the car as a deposit, but they say no. He pays the insurance, rents the car, and then slams into a concrete barrier when he returns it.

it was a jaguar from Hertz, someone dug up the post about it earlier in this thread but the gist is the same

Overseas players have been heavily scouted and coming over forever. Giannis case was as simple as Cuban having final say and while hindsight is 20/20, I can imagine that getting old pretty fast for a GM. It's 2 stars to a team to have a realistic shot in the current climate and I hope Lilliard or whoever is up next goes elsewhere then the Mavs.

Losing Donnie and Carlisle for the dude sitting with his laptop open on the opposite side of the court (who also apparently somehow upsets your franchise player) is pretty lol. Cuban and Bob deserve each other.

Your top tier degenerates like Rose, Don King are your go to guys of the past 60 years and even they got the best of it despite world record stupidity/money. It's far easier to get caught littering in front of your house or looking at your phone while driving in ****ing death valley than getting caught betting on sports as the athlete. I know first hand that athletes are making bank doing it right now and probably have for the last 100 years. They aren't in jail, lol.

I think that epic Hertz story later cost him a job opportunity, but was still probably well worth it.

2004? Idk, something like that.

I go to Vegas for a convention, don't bring any money, not intending to play. Obv I skip the convention to go to Bellagio. Max ATM withdrawal is $300, lol, donk 1/2 and run hot for $1500.

10/20 opens, whatever I'll sit short. Literally double first orbit blind/blind when the dude doesnt wanna chop and I have AA vs his AK.

Cool. I win more, end around $7000 for the day.

Next day play again and win 5000 first session and 6000 later that night. Running good and game playing like play chips.

Next day I'm winning again. I'm running the table, Grey Hoodie dude (Bob) sits covering all (no cap then) and instantly takes the game over. Bunch of hands where he clowns me.

Effective stack 8k

QQ UTG+2, I bump to 60, two calls, Bob bumps to 300, I 4b to 950, he calls.

flop J45r he checks I bet 600, he c/r to 1800... I tank for a bit then shove. Terrible, I know, but 2004 this is the nuts nobody plays streets we just value jam/bluff huge.

Bob makes really ugly face, like he smells my ass, finally shrugs and calls with KK and scoops. This sends me tilting, I leave and go to Wynn, end up getting in heads up match against the ponytailed comic book slob from the simpsons who wrecks me.

I go to the pit and lose the rest at BJ, pit boss actually pays for my cab.

Fly home, literally, and I mean really for real I sit down and turn on TV and ****ING HARALABOB ON TV GETTING 2ND TO "THE GRINDER" (Bet he wants a new nickname now lmao) for like a million dollars WPT.

Turn to wife, "I tried to move this guy off Kings for like 15k pot". "Did it work?". "Nope."

Wynn opened in the Spring of 2005.

Mizrachi winning the WPT Championship against Haralobos happened a couple months before said opening.

Otherwise pretty cool story.

2005-06 makes more sense. In 2004 only AA and KK were 4 bets.

Yeah, could have been 06 even, but probably not later.

I'm 43 and started playing in 00 or 01 in NY homegames.

The blind vs blind hand happened because I asked if he chopped, he snorted at me NO, I raised and said "shove and I call", laughing, and he shoved. I don't think it would have happened without the situation or banter.

I feel like shortly after this, I tried to find the perfect situations to 5b all in 64s type hands and did it as often as possible.

Can somebody explain this tweet who's way more current on NBA news than me of late? Saw some new posts in this thread and figured it'd be about that and I couldn't have been more wrong.

I really shortened the story to keep on topic, but this part was horrifying for me.

I spent a decade blowing up giant bankrolls that I built playing games way over my head, this one weekend was the perfect microcosm of my life in the 2000-2010 timeframe.

I've spent the next decade building businesses, but 10000% want to go berserk again.
