How old is this guy?

In the episode of High Stakes Living he has a daughter of about 20 years old. I always thought he was like 30-32...

One nice part about having hundreds of red pros is we will always have clashes like this to keep us interested.

I guess I"ll just never understand throwing cards at or berating the dealer. I mean christ I, and I'm sure almost everyone else on this site, have gotten steamed up at taking a bad beat live, but it's never even crossed my mind to start acting like a jackass to the dealer.

I can't believe everyone is now thinking oppenheim is a dealer basher just because an on tilt gus hansen said so.

This is not a one time incident. There are a lot of stories out there about Oppenheim being an *******.

i have a funny david o. story in this vein of things..........

had drinks/appetizers with him one night with a mutual friend at the bellagio.
david couldn't have been nicer. this is say 8 years ago. they were trying to negotiate a golf bet, etc. etc.

we decide to play poker. biggest game going is like 200/400 O/8. we all sit.

about 10 minutes in david has the dealer in tears (not kidding) for making change out of a black chip when she wasn't supposed to. like the biggest flip of the switch i have ever seen out of a human being in my life. giving this poor little asian girl the "what the f, f, f, f, f, do you think you are f'ing doing" etc, etc. it was ugly.

btw i still think he is a nice guy generally speaking but def. not towards anyone dealing poker. it was a brutal display and now i know it wasn't a one time thing with him.

He's a good guy. Everyone loses it on occasion when losing a big pot. I haven't played with him for awhile but I wouldn't put him in that class of dealer abuse. He's just an intense person. Also he takes care of dealers in my experience.

I was a dealer for 16 years back in the day, started in 1974. Believe me I would not take that kinda **** from a player. On more than one occasion I told a player what time my shift ended and where I would be happy to meet them, this almost always shut them up, David would not have been an exception.

I think this would get you fired tbh. I would not mess with you though as you are such a hard man.

It is a well known fact that Oppenheim has a short temper and is a complete ******* to the dealers and sometimes other players as well.

oppie also does it to intimadate other players, I remember hearing Barry greenstien saying that he has fought almost everyone in the big game. In the the high stakes living video he also has a shinner under his eye...

No, everyone doesn't lose it. Guys like Greenstein, Ivey, Antonius, Brunson, Negreanu, and Gus have enough respect for the game and players to not be taking out their losses on the person dealing the cards.

Hell Mike Matusow wouldn't even do it, the most unbalanced player in poker.

anyone notice on the poker after dark cash game that when Hellmuth lost a put and kind of got pissed at the dealer. Went to commercial after the hand and came back with a different dealer after the break.
