I tend to favor wearing a large convention badge whenever playing at the Venetian or Mandalay Bay. Won't fool locals here but it historically did seem to get action from tourists.

Also, one of those two feet tall drink glasses helps.

An unlit cigar also seems to draw action.

At the 2015 WSOP 50/50 DraftKings $1500 NL event (the one where 50% of the field cashed for a minimum of $1000), a guy sat down at my table in a hyper-patriotic outfit.

He had on Stars and Stripes everywhere -- his hat, his shirt, and even his pants. He also had on big sunglasses. He looked early 30s, and indeed he appeared to be some jingoistic rube.

However, as the table engaged him in friendly conversation, he quickly admitted something: The outfit was intentional to be seen as a fish, and that in reality he wasn't a hyper-patriotic nutcase.

Unfortunately for a semi-well-known pro on the other side of the table, only a few of us were taking part in that conversation, while the pro was in his own headphone world.

It turned out that Mr. Fake Patriot was tight, and his intentionally ignorant look fooled this pro, who first 3-bet him preflop with 95o, and then shoved over a check-raise when he flopped a gutshot. Turned out the fake patriot had QQ, and the pro busted.

This was early in the event, so there was no point to shoot off in such a fashion.

I'll be nice and not name the pro who was fooled.

I prefer a hoodie, sunglasses, and Adiddas loafers. Headphones if I'm in the mood for music.
