Gossip/Theory: Doyle's origin story Gossip/Theory: Doyle's origin story

I have confirmed this probably fictional story by, taking a cue from Daliman, independently thinking about it.

Bobby Baldwin caught Doyle cheating but rather than having him buried 6ft in the desert decided he'd mess with him. He'd give him a gift and a curse. He rigged the WSOP so Doyle would win twice in a row with the ten-deuce. Doyle winning with the ten-deuce was the curse.

DUCY?

BTW, Doyle's part of Super System is so awful it's hilarious. One of the worst strategy guides ever. Almost literally no specific or practical advice. * Even Phil Hellmuth's Play Poker Like the Pros is infinitely better.

*My favorite part is the one footnote about "post oak bluffs"

I'm desperately trying to get in touch with Bobby Baldwin can anyone help me out?

Do you think by "post oak bluffs" Doyle was referring to "gto sized bets in 3 and 4 and 5 bet pots"?

I don't think Gordo and Doyle really are as friendly as they might appear....

The fact that the first four replies on this thread are from the original poster show its popularity. Or lack of.

No, I do not see why.

Anyone ever read Doyle's "Wisdom of a Poker Champion"? Lots of solid advice in that book.

OP Pm'd me one last post he wanted in this thread:

Can you please reopen this thread and at least post this response?
