Turning around just about straight after them winning $150k with 50:1 odds of being within 1 lb of each other in a year, they are doing another bet with a big chunk of their winnings with much lower odds to get below 9.9% bodyfat with only 3:1 odds, their $50k to bill perkins $150k.


How do you think they will do? Worth the odds they are getting? There were a lot of doubters the first time around, should be another interesting sweat!

don't they just have to starve themselves? or fast a lot throughout the year to lose weight and fat just goes away

feels like they are huge favorites to win this one

Perkins is such a boss. Taking advantage of their confidence at the ATH. Super happy for Jamie to have accomplished such a big goal but his body type isn't one to hold a BF% of sub 10.

Previously Jaime had appeared to be unmotivated and very poor at making rational plans and sticking to them. Now that he's shown some resolve, tact, and consistency, I don't think there will be as many doubters.

It's going to be fun to follow this one. I'm No expert when it comes to getting down to that fat % but seems like perkins is a bit generous with these bets, but I guess he isn't interested in winning money, just to see people work hard for it

Did they current Dexa?

Sub Dexa-10%, aka actually fairly legit Sub 10%, is definitely challenging. It is very lean, most people overestimate what it is. Generally it is ab definition without* flexing, abdominal veins starting to come in, separated chest/shoulder striations.
Also I think the excess skin is going to be a potentially impossible factor. I mean I don't see how surgery could help that much when were talking sub 10% dexa--which I believe would treat skin as non LBM/fat?

And they both have to do it?

I like Bills side a lot.

That sounds a little bit discouraging. I recently started training for my first half-ironman and was told by more experienced people that I should get my body fat below 10% for that. Had no idea that's very challenging and was kinda hoping that was something that's eventually coming with 10 hours/week+ of cardio. Do I really have to give up candy and ice cream for that?

I mean don’t be discouraged. You don’t need to be sub 10% for that. But when ppl say sub 10% what they have in their head is actually [dexa] 12-14%. People use different methods that are generally much friendlier on the %. It may not sound like much but it gets harder and harder each %. I recently finished my cut and I had all those aspects I listed and I think I may have been legit 10% but prob somewhere a little higher.

But you can get there though, it’s just tough and gets harder the further you go. Nah you don’t gotta give that up, as long as you burn more than consume it’s basically whatever.

I just don’t like Jamie’s odds going from like 40%+ originally to sub 10%. He doesn’t have much muscle mass, so he’s gonna need lesser and lesser calories to keep up the losing. A lot harder mentally when you gotta get on at 1200 vs someone who can shred at 2000.
And then add in another person who’s gotta be mentally determined to get through the pain too.

isn't it somewhat easy with intermittent fasting?

I mean it's not like they're doing a bodybuilding competition where they also need good muscle mass, they just need low bodyfat %

This one is really challenging as they are both >20% atm. This takes a very strict diet, low on carbs and fat. Also lots of cardio and from what I read Jaime lost most weight just from fasting. It takes months to get him fit. I suggest starting on a hometrainer to prevent injuries. Also easier to stay in the fat burning zone. Some swimming is also good. 1 year is too short imo. This bet takes much more time, effort and discipline then the weight loss bet.

I wasn't in good shape man I was just underweight, mostly due to digestive issues, nothing to brag about

I just think if they can manage to live on very low cal diet and go to the gym then it shouldn't be too hard

If they have nothing to do all day but win this bet it's a lock in a years time seriously. And their getting odds. They are 188 pounds most they have to lose to get to 10% bf would be 40 pounds in a year. 3.5 pounds month very doable
