Phil Ivey is the most popular poker player in the US. DN is more popular in Canada. Gus Hansen is some kind of a god in Denmark.

Soccer smashes all the other sports globally, but Lebron James and Tom Brady do okay in the US and other English speaking countries. Ivey is a giant in the poker world and a midget in the sporting world.

Yeah, sure, I understand not everyone is an enormous web dork like me, but mind=kinda boggled that people who would actively post on a forum like this are completely new to Google trends. It's basically where you can go and instantly gauge the worlds interest in something. Kind of a powerful tool... surprised there are still hill-folk out there who haven't used it.

Lastly, use Google Insights, not Google Trends.

About the first graph: It's also interesting how there's a peak on the end of the year on the searches for "Poker". Which is probably because people gets interested on playing Poker on their spare time (end of year vacations etc). Same happens by searching for "online poker".
