I've known Ginge for a few years and would consider him a close personal friend. As he's stationed out in Thailand and I am in Cambodia, he's come here on many occasions to visit and I have personally seen his rise through the ranks in poker. If I may convey a personal story about him, I was playing on a house player deal in a casino here in Cambodia a couple of years back. The room wanted to run a bigger game, up to $25-$50 NLH, and asked if I could help them get players and offered me compensation for doing so. There is really only one person I know who plays that high so I called Ginge and asked if he and some of the guys in his stable can come over and help me out. I asked this thinking he was in Thailand but actually he was playing high stakes in Vegas at the time. I was disappointed of course that the distance would preclude him from coming, but the fuc*er actually got on a plane the next day and brought one of his students to play in the game also. Ask any of his students as they ALL swear by him. And I would struggle to think of anyone in this game that is more honorable than Ginge. FWIW

I saw Ginge at a grocery store in Pattaya yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything.
He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?”
I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying.
The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.
When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

First post and it's taken me 15 years.

I like Ginge for the following reasons:

1) He's living the poker dream in Thailand and playing for a living. Lots of people dream, he's actually doing it.

2) He comes across as very honest and positive which a lot of poker players don't. He says what he thinks about life in Thailand etc and just seems to enjoy life. If I was running a high stakes game I'd want him in it. This is a skillset which players obsessed with solver work are not so likely to have. Uptight Drummond at BBZ is the complete opposite.

3) His poker videos on u-tube have helped my game, are well edited and fun to watch. His advice on bluffing the river depending on your flush blockers helped me :

The ironic thing is that BBZ, is calling out someone's poker ability when he is a legit MMT whale. Plus he's a douche bag obviously. Watched some of his mtt high lights and it was comedy gold. He's almost as bad as all in pav.

It's important to think about what he says though, and not just blindly follow what a streamer does. TT is a much better call than AKo with his suits here because it's possible the other player is bluffing with a hand like A5 54 or 44. This really punishes calls by two high cards and makes it's important to be careful in spots like this.

Yeah, in order to bluff catch, you need to be able to beat bluffs. He called out some of those types of hands. Villain showing up with AQ just solidifies this point. We really don't want to be calling down too much with A high here, because villain is going to struggle to find bluffs. He will be mixing a lot of those combos pre (probably never 3b 44 here), so we can discount some.

I think it might work out better in real life to call down AK over TT as villain will have more Tx suited bluffs in his range.
