GGPoker rake massive increases - High Stakes community mass boycott - Page 9 - Poker News

Lobby completely empty not even fish sitting. Games been like this since strike started. The argument that the high stakes games be full of recreationals if there are no pros hunting them is clearly flawed…

The recs that help keep the games going ("semi pros") certainly will, they're aware of the rake. There's not that many people just drooling on the tables these days, plenty of people understand the concept of rake eating up their winnings.

GG RB is a scam and their rake is outrageous.

wish we could have prevented stars from cancelling sne in the first place or make them reinstate it by boycotting. these sites are operating on the same greed levels as politicians who cave to lobbyists for evil giant corporations, oil companies raising prices at the pump while recording record profits, countries going to war for oil... the evil is blatant. they need a good purge of leadership. u dont have to outlast gg poker u just have to outlast the people in charge who will obviously be on the chopping block explaining how they killed the poker dream once and for all.

the other thing i think would be smart is to out the exact executives names here who made this decision so ppl know who to blame.. in actuality though some other site will realize wat is going on and offer something good to scoop up all these highstakes players bc there is no way every single site out there is just going to ignore what is going on after they essentially lost all the highstakes games to gg in the first place... this is there one chance to get them back. moms spaghetti

Unfortunately, for someone who is supposedly one of the smartest people in poker, he couldn't work out the very obvious, that it is MTTs and freerolls first that bring the recs and build player numbers, not cash games. Lots of people were telling him this but he never listened.

But I agree that this is what this group of high stakes pros should do, but most likely they are too lazy and too selfish to work hard and to work together as a team to pull it off.
They are more interested in bum hunting.

I don't understand this distinction between "recs" and "regs" in this rake argument it makes no sense. It affects recs just as negatively as it affects regs. Recs should be boycotting this as well and switching sites.

The question is where to, Pokerstars?

People who are rich don't care. Go to any casino and you will see whales playing unbeatable games like Roulette. People with a lot of money just like to have fun, and poker at high stakes is fun and competitive for some people.

They just don't want to lose their money and have a bad time. These people will blast 100k on dinners sometimes.

When you have a lot of money it's just monopoly money. No one cares.

Personally I prefer PokerStars to ACR, so I decided to move my 6-figure bankroll from GG to Stars.
Since this is my first time moving such a large amount of money, I'm facing a lot of daily/weekly/monthly limits.
Both the withdrawal and the deposit will take at least more than a month.

Once I have enough bankroll to comfortably play with, I will start playing 5000NL+ regularly in Stars.
I assume that there are other regs who are in the similar situation.

Hopefully, the number of active high stakes table in Stars will increase over time (in a month or so).

Oh, sorry to misunderstand you.
Each deposit transaction into Stars finishes successfully in a sec.

The problem is that it limits the amount of money deposited in a day/week/month.
Currently, I can only deposit $1500 a day into Stars.
That's why it will take more than a month to finish moving all of my bankroll.

After hitting the daily limit consectutively, I will ask for the increase of the limit.
(The fact that the daily limit is consumed in a row will prove the necessity to the Stars cashier team.)
If I succeed to do this, it will faster the whole process!

Did you successfully withdraw a $100K bankroll from GG ? Are you saying Stars won't accept a bank wire for your deposit of $100K USD ? Did you contact them directly ?
