GG Poker confiscates/steals funds for vague bumhunting allegations on winning players.

This has to change. If the network decides to ban or temporarily ban the player for repeated offences with regards to alleged bumhunting, it’s pathetic but within their rights.

But they should not be allowed to confiscate the player's funds and the poker community must say its not OK for them to take such radical action.

It’s totally unprecedented in any poker format, live or online, to confiscate player's money for simple game selecting. Every pro and many recs do this all year round.

It seems that no matter how you play and against whom, the winning players will get warnings for bumhunting whether or not they actually have committed to the act. For simply playing in the games offered. There will always be big winners due to variance in any big bet poker game.

The most concerning factor is that if a player gets permanently banned for alleged bumhunting, the player's funds will be confiscated/STOLEN as per the network rules.



I see NO valid reason for taking a player’s hard earned balance, as the players has simply played poker and has done nothing fraudulent.

I can understand confiscation in the case of multi-accounting, RTA and card sharing, but the punishment doesn't fit the crime when it comes to alleged bumhunting. You don’t serve life in jail for speeding either.

That's simply wrong and against the spirit of the game, and shows a lack with connection from GG network with the poker community.

Therefore I ask the GG network to amend their TOC and remove “CONFISCATION” from the point 12.6 in their rules.

Did you actually read the points on what GG defines as bumhunting?

If a player can go out of their way to bumhunt, then surely they can find a way to avoid doing it as well.

Also, any confiscation only happens after multiple breaches.

They're simply protecting their players. If you want to bum hunt, do it somewhere else.

... and do they pocket the confiscated funds in the process ?

Rules are rules. Sites reserve the right to enforce them.

IMO, the real crime is their unequal standards in enforcing them. Take for example the nosebleed games (40k+). When the rec leaves, the regs openly discuss flipping for btns, etc. Nothing against those players for doing so, it's understandable. However, GG shouldn't pick and choose who to ban for the same rule breaking. Especially when they reserve the right to confiscate funds. The matter should be criminal at that point.

The more I read about GG Poker, their business practices and the way they have handled problems in PR, you have to be a degenerate idiot to do business with them, it seems just a matter of time before there's going to be a problem.

shouldnt every professional poker player try to play in games where they think they have an edge?

Imagine if you will a world without professional gamblers. If you cannot, then imagine a world that does not have to set itself up to cater to professional gamblers.

They are smart about this in wording, they know its cool to hate on bumhunters.

But lets stop and look at rules.

Simply absurd that they can take players money, 1000% of pros did this one time or another....

They are not even open about the rules it seems.

Any serious pokerplayer should be scared to death by this random confiscation rules, sadly not many of those left in NVG.

I honestly think this is not written by someone that dont understand poker very well. Just Somone that have been targeted and is butthurt..

They have many great things about them, incl WSOP mtts and great software.

We as community should help them fix their wrongs imo.

They are the world biggest pokersite and seems to hold that positions steady.
They are to big to simply be ignored.

Many great things? I don't believe they have anything special, they just bought their way into poker at the right time.

And people have tried to suggest ways to help them and GG either denies it, fires the person that suggested it or ignores a problem hoping it goes away.

This just seems like a bad company, and people are ignoring the signs of bad business practices in order to play poker.

GG is a scam site but honestly at this point anyone that plays there kinda deserves what they get. They've made it clear they only want donks and if you're a winning player they reserve the right to take your **** for what ever reason they pull out their ass

You do realise the only reason they ban the winning players/bum hunters are so they can convert as many deposits as possible into their own bank accounts?

Do not be under the illusion that they are doing this to 'protect the players'.

Imagine the 200k games if they ban bum hunters. Shouldn't every reg be banned from those games then since they are not battling eachother on these games regularly and only play when a recreational player shows up? Is this not bum hunting or am I missing something here?

the issue is they are deliberately vague. I believe almost every reg bum hunts to some degree. I have experience in heads up sngs low stakes regs dont play regs. how is this policed if I rematch most people but one or two players I find tough I dont rematch? is that bum hunting? If I dont challenge anyone and everyone for the lobby is that bum hunting?
for mtts I have sharkscoped entire tournament lobbys before to get the idea of the standard for a particular tournament type/buyin level.
obviously this may not be viable if larger fields but id likely scope a sample size of a lobby. I need to play players I have an edge against because Im not here to give my money away.

you know unibet allow name changes daily, I have seen other poker sites anonymise tables, surely GG could do this and then bumhunting would become impossible.

what about the whole issue with hand charts I have heard people have been banned and had roles seized because of allegations of using hand charts. Now I heard someone was banned for using nash charts come on anyone could memorize in that in a few days. I had some hand charts for mtts which I noted down from a training site. I never needed during live play because had memorized.

So if I play on GG I could have roled seized because I memorized a hand chart because how can I possibly prove I not using during play.

I have never aimed or desired to cheat at poker live or online, However I fear if I played on GG and built up a role I would risk having it seized. This is why I do not yet have an account on GG.

If you are stupid enough to play there after few warnings you deserve to lose your balance. Even if you try to change your play to avoid bumhunting you are flagged and in a risk to lose your balance. And I don't think they are trying to protect the players they are trying to push winning players out or play zoom that generates more rake.

If the ruleset was the same minus the confiscation it would be fine.
