Getting Some Press for AP/UB Scandals? Getting Some Press for AP/UB Scandals?

I'd heard rumblings of a US news magazine show (60 minutes?) doing a feature on the cheating scandals, but did this ever make it to air?

I'm wondering if anyone had suggested the idea to any of the CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corp.) shows, particularly "Marketplace".

http://www.cbc.ca/marketplace/
(They have a 'suggest story' link)

The show is kinda bush league compared to the major US shows, but that might just make more apt to cover it, and the Canadian connection with KGC.

They might jump at it since a few of you upstanding poker citizens did all the behind the scenes investigation, and uncovered this crap.

1) Submit it to Slashdot
2) Figure out a political anti-Republican angle to this and post a diary on DailyKos
3) Find someone who is willing to tell a sob story to a local newspaper
4) Railtard Jim McManus on Full Tilt until he agrees to write a book about Joe Norton and online poker
5) Google-bomb "poker" and the names of prominent poker players such as Phil Hellmuth and Annie Duke so that something about this scandal is the first thing that comes up when people search for poker news during the WSOP.

The story is much bigger than 'local newspaper' level IMO. This is definitely something a national paper would run with. But I agree with you that it's definitely best to go to the blogs first.

Whether or not it's a good idea is another story....

Local news stories may get picked up by the national media.

Either this goes unreported or it gets reported in a way that makes online poker look bad. There is no middle option. I'm inclined to support the story getting out instead of hoping that bad details get covered up and don't get out into the mainstream wild.

I don't see why "The Fifth Estate" would not want to jump on this...

Here's an article from Canada's National Post.

That's actually a pretty decent article -- fairly easy to understand.
