This isn't right, didn't have a problem with the situation because it got handled, he got banned and lost the monies, but if he indeed got the money back, no one should ever worry about Stars taking their money. If this is indeed true, it's pathetic.

Why ? How is that possible ? I think its rediculous when people got caught of multi-accounting and only penalty is that they got their accounts locked. Theese guys should sit in jail for few years...

can one of the lawyers on here explain how it is possible he got his money back when it sais in the Terms of Service that if you break said rule your account will be locked and all the money in it forfeited?

I can definitely see stars giving back a lot of his money. He was caught cheating on another site and then they lock up his account. Was anything even about multi-accounting in the terms and conditions when this happened? I mean it could just be a catalyst for putting this into the T's and C's. They probably went back and somehow figured that he had made 5k multi accounting on stars so they take the 5k redistribute to the appropriate people and then let him cash his money out because maybe there wasn't anything in the terms and conditions. I'm sure a much bigger deal could have been made about the site's being at fault for being able to open the poker client multiple times on the same computer and security not catching it. Maybe it was like a "You don't make it seem like it was our fault and we will give most of your money back but never play here again" type of thing. Now that I think about it this doesn't seem right at all.

I'm not a lawyer but I think I can shed some light on this. Basically before the multi accounting scandals the only rules pokersites had on this type of thing was that each person can only have account. Not that you can only play on one account or that you can only play on your account, but that you can only set up one account in your name.

Basically there is no way these pokersites (mainly partypoker) didn't know multi accounting was going on at the time. They chose not to have rules against it and not to do anything about it until they couldn't anymore. It wasn't until there was a HUGE HUGE uproar on the message boards when it was posted JJprodigy won the party sunday tourney on a multi account that they decided to do something about it. And at this point they didn't have rules against it and the players hadn't really broken their T&C so it's easy to see how a lawsuit could be successful.
