The Gardens Casino is running a $565 buy in 1 million guaranteed tournament this week. They were getting very small fields in the day 1 flights this week (2 flights per day). Day 2 was supposed to be this Saturday (convenient for people that work weekdays, a few people played the tournament for this reason). Today they decided that they are going to move day 2 to Monday and have 4 more starting flights on Saturday and Sunday. Personally I think it's a very scummy move . I'm pretty tilted because I fired 3 bullets expecting an overlay and made day 2 on my 3rd try, and was excited about the smaller field and a nice opportunity for a big score. Not going to play at the Gardens again after Monday, too many options in LA. Btw this is a Poker Night in America event.

It sucks that there's no overlay but ok that's life whatever. But what if I had work on Monday and couldn't miss it? Obv not gonna get fired over a tourney so what , sit there at work thinking about my stack being blinded off in a 1mil tourney? Really sucks

Lol, adding extra heats is pretty shady, but changing day 2/3 from Saturday/Sunday to Monday/Tuesday after 10 of 14 advertised starting sessions have been completed is just ridiculous. What if you are a rec player that already bagged and can't miss a work meeting on Monday or you have a trip scheduled you can't change? This sets a terrible precident and may be illegal in California with consumer protection laws (not sure though).

Yes upon reflection, I do agree that the changing of days does make it SUPER shady for reasons stated.

This is even worse than the house buying in additional ringers to make the guarantee.

And not every rec player is on Twitter or social media. Are they planning to call all these people that bagged to make sure they know of the change and don't show up on Saturday? They can get a phone tree going lol.

If a person would not have played if the new schedule was there from the start, then they have a right to complain.

if you cant take a day off work without getting fired your job sucks and its not worth trying to hang onto anyway. or you are habitually taking days off and cant miss a single extra day.

everyone's life is full of different circumstances. and though you might have lots of flexibility, many don't.

Plus even people with flexibility do still, you know, plan things. Poker is not a full time thing for recs. they might have had other things planned for Monday / Tuesday.

Pretty sure lots of people would like to play for the Dallas Cowboys or New York Yankees and don't think that job sucks. At least not before all the CTE stuff. But I don't think any of them can take Monday nights game off to play some poker..

I don't mind a casino trying really hard to hit their guarantee but it's definitely bad to switch days; some people have to plan for this **** and especially a saturday to a monday.

This has to be relevant for some of the worst players remaining & best customers of the casino. Everyone's going to be pissed off. Stressful weekend ahead for the TD

i think the rider at the end of a structure sheet that says the casino/tournament director can change almost anything at their discretion means that you can report them all you want but they're basically doing nothing illegal/wrong.

Putting something in fine print doesn't make it ironclad, enforceable, or give you a free pass to break laws/regulations. A lot of companies just put ridiculous things in there anyway because it's effective at dissuading people like you from suing them.
