I'd be more interested to see if they can put a timeframe on "shortly" as accurately as the DOJ defines "soon".

Great news my $19 is coming home , thank you Howard Lederer for ignoring your own self interest and looking out for the players by getting this done.

So basically all that's happened is they picked a company, the thing they said would be done in January. Now granted it's an ok first step but we still have to wait on the government to tell this company how the process will work which leads me to believe that may not have been determined yet? So we're still waiting on the government, sigh...

i think we can expect taxes, age/id verification to be the big issues here

anyone wanna bet that we get under 50 cents on the dollar after all is said and done?

That's a little unfair. fulltiltpokerclaims.com was registered only 6 weeks ago. There's no reason to believe GCG knew they got the job before that.

Sarcasm aside: This looks like good news.

they don't auto tax me when i cash out from a poker game in a casino, because they realize every dollar i'm exchanging into bills isn't necessarily profit, and that the precedent is that it's up to the player to claim what he owes.

they're not releasing a jackpot to you, they're releasing assets that were already yours years ago. nice fearmongering tho

Just briefly skimming their website, it's hard to compare the FTP case to their other listed cases because of how different/unique the FTP case is compared to what they've normally handled.

So...the DOJ technically was right in that the processor began work in January.

They look very legit. Have handled tons of large high profile cases including the $6B+ WorldCom case back in the day. I looked up a random settlement that involved thousands of claimants for a settlement case and they sent out a notice in September that had to be mailed/faxed(2007) in by mid December, and apparently if you did it right payments went out the following Spring. Our case is obviously different but just something to chew on.

Can we kill the time by coming up with some hilarious examples?

Good news everyone! They have a website. God, I am going to get so wasted when my FT funds come through. Hmmm...three fiddy....
03-13-2013 , 07:24 PM
My completely uniformed guesses: 4 months to develop a plan to file for remissions, remissions are paid out 6-12 months after that, depending on when you file and the status of your ft account. Feel free to counter with your own guesses or estimates.

Man. I live right next to a city called Garden City, but no relation. Got all excited that I could drop by in person periodically, until they told me several years from now that I was no longer welcome.

Feels good to hear something. I hope they have been working since January, and have some of the process worked out.
