i love it, once they got a few more episodes in and is bingeable i'm going to start sharing it to the people i know who never played poker but are into the bachelor and stuff like that

i friggin love it. dnegs doing his yapping, charlie carel doing weird stuff, the face guy, ukrane's ta-ta's, maria ho playing tighter than her own ______, jungleman acting like juingleboy.

Really enjoying the show so far, but I HATE the mystery prizes for the final round. They can just rig it whatever way they want, right? Unless Koon finishes last you know they'll keep Team Dnegs in it.
Would be more interesting if they knew the prizes anyway.

i highly doubt it

there's too many people involved in thes both in front and behind cameras that if they pulled anything like that it would probably leak

there's little to no incentive for them to rig the teams when they could have just said "these are the teams" and it wouldn't have ever been an issue

they also really didn't lean into that much or make it much of a storyline so it'd be super weird go through that effort and risk for 20 seconds of "oh cool we're both team diamond"




100% think the only reason for the mystery prizes was to give flexibility to the showrunner to decide who moves forward. It's a lie he can do on his own without involving others so it's super easy to pull off as the rest of the cast and crew do not need to be involved in it. And agree it'd be devastating for them to not have Dnegs move forward into the next round so i wouldn't be surprised if we see Koon get 4th that they decide to "reverse it" or if he gets 2nd or 3rd we find it's a random prize pool or so many more chips than the other 3 that now his team advances without even outright winning.

If Koon get's 4th it would not surprise me at all in something weird happens in the prizes and they move forward and David William's team magically finds themselves as the odd team out as they are by far the least marketable.

My thought was they did it to add a little drama/gamesmanship to the teams selecting which of their players plays in which match. They all seem to have automatically assumed Match 4 would earn the highest coins. I think the twist to trip them up is that Match 4 was the least influential/important for coins the entire time.

Giving the first ep a try and it's pretty good. They are taking the Korean gameshow format and applying it to poker which is a smart idea imo. It'd be cool if in the future they allow players to win their way onto the show through satties/qualifiers.

This was my thought process too, they don't want to lose the marketability of Dnegs so they give themselves the flexibility to offer up a twist where a place other than 1st gets more chips, allowing them to keep their golden boy in the show.

Also, how can you say Williams team is the "least marketable"????

also strongly disagree with your yoh viral and charlie takes- they may annoy you - but the showrunners clearly love them with their willingness to react/talk/actup etc and it shows with all the screentime they get - pretty sure both have pretty large followings as well

david wiliams is an OG but several tiers below guys like dnegs/fedor/koon/ho/carrel/jungle in terms of the ability to put butts in seats

he mostly seems to still be relevant today just because he's such a nice guy and everyone seems to like him and i can't think of anything he's done beyond that wsop final table (but i cold be wrong) - he's also paired with 3 people with no real gravitas

I remember those old rumours of David Williams doing porn movies before he made it in poker. I personally think that there should be more cross over between porn and poker. Poker is never lacking the need for attractive females in the game.

A lot of online influencers these days are buying fake subs and views to make themselves appear more popular than they really are, faking it til they make it. Yo Viral is super cringe, but there are plenty of people with shitty taste that enjoy things that suck so what do I know?

David Williams has a pretty strong Hendon Mob and has stood the test of time in poker imo, plus he doesn't look like a slobby troll and is well-spoken and great on camera, he just doesn't act like a complete jackass like yo viral and charlie to try to hog screentime.

Ugh, that team is brutal to watch. Three people screaming "Let's gooooooooo" in various accents every time something remotely favorable happens to their horse.

The turbo zoom on certain flops/turns/rivers is the nuts.

Just seems odd that three top tier brand ambassadors (DNegs, Koon, Martin) are all on the same team...........the show NEEDS this team to advance. Probably would have been way too obvious if they stuck Fedor on this team as well.

Did not know deadmau5 is affiliated with GG or played poker. Need him on the next season!
