agreed i would have absolutely loved seeing those guys going to a restaurant in korea, dealing with the language barrier, and getting bombed off soju

just like a simple task of who can find the restaurant first gains that group 5 extra big blinds etc would have been fun

As much as I agree with this, the constant 'GG" comments instead of just saying 'good game' drove me even more crazy. Very disappointed to hear Fedor using this term as well, as he seems less cringe then the rest of them. He must have somehow been infected with this disease by everyone else lol.

The 'GG' and 'let's gooo' comments almost ruined what was a pretty entertaining show.

"LET'S GOOOOO" actually makes me miss "THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!" from the 2000s.

the "gg" and "let's go" makes me realize how lucky we were with things like 'stack em to the top'

can't find original video sadly

Great show. Loved the format, the backroom commentary, the dramatic (although somewhat repetitive) music and the cast. Loved the drama too. From Kyna getting hilariously ignored by Jungle, to Jungle flipping out at Yoh (probably all that pent up anger from being in a room with Kyna), to that British kid (forgot his name...Robin?) hilariously trying to touch Olga at every opportunity even though he has a girlfriend (bro wtf). I thought Ali being serious was actually a good thing cause it added to the mysterious vibes, especially in the earlier episodes.

I feel like although the main focus of the show should be poker, a few non poker twists would be nice. Such as a survivor style challenge (puzzle maybe?) where the top X winners or winning team gets some extra coins or maybe even the losing team being subject to some kind of penalty would be fun to watch. Being able to vote someone out, although funny, would be a little too unfair.

Was checking out DNeg’s HendonMob, looking to see if he’s had any recent big scores when I saw that Game of Gold is in HendonMob:

if people saying 'GG' and 'let's gooo' ruins a show you find pretty entertaining you probably have some underlying issues to sort out

they did a mini reunion promoting season 2 - while it was extremely brief and light on content, there were some interesting things - like we now know why nikita made that seemingly insane draft where she passed over players with more credentials, for example, josh had just previously given a speech about how much the team element sucked and he didn't like it so this led her to believe he would be a toxic presence on her squad - honestly, i think not including that was a bit intentional, as it gave nikita more of a story arc from "hopeless" to "crusher" as that decision was some of the first real exposure we got of her and it was unanimously viewed as idiotic but wouldn't have been if we had the context which explained the decision

there were some notable absences and they tease that there will be an all new cast with adding a "just kidding" so will be interesting to see if those who are not present will be replaced in s2 or just couldn't make it to film this promo spot

they also strongly hinted we're going to see a lot more stuff like indian poker because those indian poker shorts went viral and were huge for the show - so they'll very clearly be aiming at contests that'll produce great short clips that'll work on tiktok and youtube shorts

Looks like these 6 weren't in the reunion pic:
Jason Koon
Kevin Martin
Lukas Robinson
Charlie Carrel
Andy Tsai "Andy Stacks"
Michael Soyza

Other than Charlie, the rest pretty forgetable from season 1.

If you miss Charlie, just go around the house screaming "Let's gooooooo" in some sort of weird Eurotrash accent for a couple of hours, and you'll feel his presence.

Agreed, would've loved to see more Koon though. Not really his fault he didn't get the chance to be more prominent on the show
