Unlike the first challenge, this one doesn't have a set schedule. Apparentely Bill has a busy schedule and they'll play whenever he can fit a session. Phil will probably announce each one in advance as soon as he can.

It sounded like he might even start another challenge while this one is in progress (ActionFreak)

Since this challenge is played on party, RIO guys dont have access to real time numbers on who's up. So, during streams, it'll be a "best guess" and they'll be posting the results after each session on https://www.runitonce.eu/galfond-challenge/ once Phil provides them with the accurate numbers.

On one hand, video chat during the challenge would be entertaining. On the other, we miss out on Phil's real time analysis.

So phill and bill talked on the phone the last 30 minutes of the match. What did phil learn? That bill was using a randomizing method on the flop. So, instead of Phil just assuming that bill was trapping a lot with huge hands, as he was, he got to find out that it was just variance. This is def a mistake from Perkins, as giving Phil that info is going to cost him.

No intention to be a hater or nothing like that.
I am following the challenge since day 1 and loving all this.

I also love the idea that each challenge have different focus and while one is more entertaining the other is more "teaching", etc.

But as I saw that most people got really excited by the face-up cards and Phil streaming, Ill throw my 2 cents and say that I really miss the entertainment side of the challenge.
Miss Tuch and Stapes a lot.

I really enjoyed watching face down cards online poker.

I caught the part where Bill was on the phone and a bit before that and thought it was phenomenally entertaining. Its also much more informative to hear Phil's commentary. I'm terrible at HUPLO, but there were spots where Phil folded that really surprised me.

Correct. At least that was the plan originally and I don't think they've mentioned any changes in that regard.

yeah during initial twitter exchange Bill specified that at any moment he could swap in and out members of the thirst lounge without any notification and PG agreed - have no idea if that wound up in final agreement

The NVG mod team has decided on a "two-prong" approach to the Galfond challenge thread(s).

One thread for the specific challenge under-way which will be moderated to keep the thread free from annoying derails. The specific challenge threads (like this thread for the recently started Perkins challenge) will be devoted to the play of the specific challenge.

The other "general" thread will allow most other content regarding the Challenge, Galfond, RIO poker site, etc.

I hope that clarifies things.
