So sad to see Kaplan go. HSP already wasn't what it used to be, but now without FTP players and Kaplan it's even worse.

"Thanks" to whoever destroyed this show. Obviously people who have business in their minds, NOT POKER.

Really liked Gabe quite a bit. Sad if he is leaving the show. Hopefully the new version is entertaining

Gabe and AJ were the best duo - they should hook back up.

It makes you wonder why pokerstars even bothered to buy the show.

And then turn it into something that has almost no resemblance to the high stakes poker that we know.

Pokerstars could have just started a new show or done something with the big games.

Gabe was really kick ass. Hopefully Norm can fill his shoes.

Gabe always made the show fun to watch. Funny guy who knows poker. There aren't any better hosts out there.

The first 3 or 4 seasons of this show were incredible to watch. DN, Mike the Mouth, Sheiky, Sammy Farha were/are such strong personalities, love or hate, that their presence injected so much life into the show. Having Gabe and AJ in the booth just amplified the atmosphere and created an extremely unique and captivating show. Even the way the sets were designed made you think you were actually in someone's living room watching a high stakes game and created a warm atmosphere..

Unfortunately, its success also sowed the seeds of its own demise. I know the show is not officially dead, but come on, its not the same show in any sense of the word. Only the name remains and the "cash" formula isn't unique to this show anymore.

It's sad that as outside parties/interests realized how well this show was doing, they saw it as an opportunity to get a piece of the pie and piggyback on its success. Hence, they tried to "fix" what was obviously not broken.

Oh well, wp gg and onto the next great adventure!

Might as well rename the show to something else."Big game" sort of shows poker can be fun to watch even without FTP pros (still very shady), but with Gabe gone as well..

The popular American programme High Stakes Poker will have a new host for its seventh season. America’s Game Show Network announced that Gabe Kaplan, the presenter for the first six seasons, will be replaced with former Saturday Night Live cast member Norm MacDonald. Kara Scott will continue to co-host the show alongside the new presenter.

Buy-ins for the game range from $200,000 and $500,000, with blinds of $400/$800, with a $100 ante. A GSN spokesperson said, “this season will bring together a mix of top professionals and wealthy amateur players, each eager to take the others’ money in a high-stakes no-limit hold’em cash game.”

The game features a host of World Series Of Poker Main Event champions, including High Stakes Poker regular and two-time WSOP champion Doyle Brunson, who will be making his seventh appearance on the show. He is joined by Johnny Chan, who makes his second appearance, as well as reigning world champion Jonathan Duhamel, who won $8.9 million in November’s WSOP Main Event.

The series was filmed last December at the luxury Las Vegas Bellagio Hotel and Casino. The three-hour episodes will be broadcast on DirectTV, and viewers with the 3D channel will have the chance to see all the action with a three-dimensional view. Season 7 premieres on 26 February at 8pm New York time.
