NEW THREAD HERE

**Begin mod note**

This thread is the place for general discussion about FTP. If there's a big new piece of news, feel free to start a new thread about it (but please check the front page first to make sure someone hasn't beat you to it), but for smaller pieces of news and general discussion, please post here.

Some old FTP threads:

(I'm sure I missed some, so please PM me to add more.)

If you'd like to discuss potential better ways to for NVG moderators to handle FTP threads, see this thread: How should the forum deal with the different FTP threads.

**End mod note**

Durrr has acted with a great deal of class and there is no doubt whose interests he cares about.

Most of Team FTP has been with the site since it opened its doors and most probably have some ownership as well as a padded bank account thanks to their being investors and reps at the starting of the site.

Should ALL team FTP members be approached and asked if they will give all their FTP money to unpaid players should it come to that? Durrrr is doing the right thing and he has the LEAST amount of responsibility relative to the rest of team FTP.

Here are the people in question. I would ask them all politely when I see them whether they would do as durrrr has pledged. A lot of them are playing in the ME and should be asked (I am not in vegas).

Howard Lederer
Phil Ivey
Chris Ferguson
John Juanda
Jennifer Harman
Phil Gordon
Erick Lindgren
Erik Seidel
Andy Bloch
Mike Matusow
Gus Hansen
Allen Cunningham
PA

Most of these people have basically been retired and living the good life from what they have made from FTP and they should pledge those proceeds to players should it be required.

They likely have 100MM+ (pure guess) combined from FTP profits and could go along way to repayment. Has anyone heard from or asked people like Allen C or Jennifer H on this? This can't be easy for them and I think enough pressure would make at least the good guys of the group possibly help out (maybe I am naive ).

I know this is a bit of a reach but putting pressure where we can will at least offer the possibility of some help even if it is three outter..Remember, we are not asking them for all their $$$ but instead just their proceeds from a site that stole from us (if they don't pay). I think many people, maybe not most, but many would have a moral problem with keeping money from a source that stole from the innocent.

I don't think you should expect any of the pro's to be accountable. What Durrrr did was way above and beyond. If I was in his position I would never make that offer.

Durrrs not giving away ****, he got caught running his mouth when he was sure they would pay out. I think the only thing he said he would do is give back the endorsment money he got, not all of his winnings. I don't expect him to give me or anybody else anything either

This, unfortunately.

Durrrr/Galfond were clearly just trying to calm everyone down with their promise to pay people.

There's realistically no way they will even be able to verify how much is owed, and to whom.

+1 If anything, Durrrr may have been a little naive. He believed FTP would be able to pay the players back. (And they still might.) Either way, it's their money. They earned it, no matter what you think of them or how they earned it. JMHO. (And I only have $93 tied up.)

The money seems to have all gone into the pockets of Team Full Tilt in the form of shareholder payouts. The rest it seems went to buy some commercials on ESPN.

That's ok, some "euro investors from the financial markets" are gonna buy full tilt and pay everyone. Just ask SubjectPoker if you think I am lying.

Obviously the powers that be at fullfilt want to remain in control. Why can't/haven't they offered to break 49% ownership off to the players that are owed money in a ratio of the total?

It would take a lot to put this deal together, but it would be good for both sides. You'd get premium stock in a company you're using all the time (provided it opens back up to US), eliminates their cash problem, keeps them in control, and makes you even less likely to play at another site since you have some stake in the game.

They should have done something like this early on, since i think a lot of people would have been open to the idea then. now i think everyone has so little faith in the execs of fulltilt this could never get worked out....

sounds sort of illegal for players in USA

durrr has acted like somebody who has no idea what is going on. Why do people like him so much...personally i can't stand him.

Who should I ask for my damn miniFTOPs jersey? And the cash too please. OP is a tard if he thinks Durrrr isn't punching himself about running his mouth right after black friday. He isn't sending out any checks, how could he manage the logistics?

This is great news as fulltilt will be open for all to see!

It might be good, but then again it might also not be.

i know this is nvg, but i had no idea how clueless people were. if ftp went bankrupt, players would get paid a % relative to what ftp has left. if ftp has 75mil and owes 150 then players would get 50%. durrrr could easily donate 1mil to that fund and have it dispersed equally (which is what he stated he would do).

every idiot keeps posting here 'well he'll just give it to his friend'. No, he said he would add it to whatever funds exist that would be paid out equally to everyone, whether that be a total of 2% or 80% of your roll.

i gotta get my plane ticket
07-12-2011 , 07:22 PM
newsflash... the players were paid for endorsments and photo and video useage, not employees.... no onw will be seeing money magicaly appear.

Old news? Either the day AGCC pulled FTP's license or a couple of days later they announced the hearing was public?

Anyway
07-12-2011 , 07:23 PM
its going to be packed to the rafters

Oops, did not know they announced it would be public or not. O'well it was exciting news for me anyways.

Not sure if serious
07-12-2011 , 07:26 PM
yet another reason to stay stay in school... keeps silly threads from starting...

OP, do you really think they will just start selling shares on wall street??
07-12-2011 , 07:27 PM
probably because at this stage the amount owed to players worldwide is worth a hell of a lot more than 49% of the company

So Durrr should give back the money he made from being a FTP player. So who exactly will get the money once he give it back? I'm going to guess and say the rest of them will just divvy it up between each other while laughing.
07-12-2011 , 07:42 PM
I'm sure there will be a long line of players wanting to go into business with Ray Bitar, especially allowing him to keep a majority share, especially in light of what a great job he has done to date, and oh yeah, most especially because every freakin dollar, every server, data base, every piece of intellectual property, every desk, pencil, paper and eraser in the name of FTP et al, is subject to forfeiture.
GL OP!
