i got called today by someone claiming to have some questions on behalf of a french magazine. the interviewer was german and i live in austria.
he asked me
- if i cashed out or still have money on ftp
- if i would consider playing on ftp again
- if the fact, that a european family would lead things would give me confidence
- he said he heard a rumor that tapie would only buy certain parts of FT, like the platform. he went on to say, that according to the rumor tapie would offer to give players a "superbonus" where you have to deposit the same amount you currently have online, which is then matched as a bonus (but you have to play to get it).
- he also asked me if i have the financial means and willingness to do that deposit-bonus

Very good post. Personally, I overreacted when I heard about this bonus thing; it's stressing me out to no end.

Again, this makes me sick to my stomach. The thought of him getting away with something like this really gets my blood boiling.

I hope it's all just rumours, because if we get paid out in full without this bonus thing I'll be moving all my play back to FTP.

These latest calls also make me very sick.I wish there was somebody that knows a little more about this and could tell us if GBT are really planning to offer the deposit bonus only.The rumor alone is already hurting the new FTP brand so if they want to get a good reputation they should better stop offering BS like this latest offer!!!

And could the people that have been phoned lately and been offered this outrageous new offer tell me if it was the same number as before?The telephone number from the first survey was 0033 1 42 66 56 xx.

We don't even know for sure wether it is Tapie that is ordering the phone calls, so lets not jump to conclusions.

But in case this is true that it is being considered, lets not forget:
-The DOJ looks like a bunch of ****ing *******s
-"Herp derp this is FTP, your moneys is gone we stole it, ya want to get it back? just redeposit bro we'll give you a bonus then!!!!" ... is anyone really gonna take the risk to deposit on that new FTP? Imo no. So anyone would be crazy to do this.

These 2 alone imo make it very unrealistic for this to really happen.

Imo best case scenario this is someone who is not Tapie, realistic worst case scenario this is Tapie trying to see how few money he can spend and he is going to realise he needs to spend more than he hoped.

I want them to really call me now though, I wanna pressure whoever is behind that phone .

unfortunately i also forgot to ask where he got my number from. did ftp sell their customer info? i mean i get a lot of spam email from casinos and stuff but i never got called before.

Why would they ask the first survey with the French number that I already posted and a few days later suddenly with a blocked number,that doesn't make sense to me.
What makes sense is that those new phone calls might come from one of FTP competitors.A practice like this is called a push poll.It would mean they are only pretending to ask questions and in real they want to put out bad rumors about the new FTP.
Let's hope for the best.

It's likely there are multiple telephone agencies behind these phone calls, so the one phone numberbeing blocked and other not probably isn't that much of a tell.

nobody would ever do this...i'm willing to accept some sort of cashout-fee but not to grind a 80K Bonus...lol...unacceptable if true

The 6 months since my FTP roll was stolen have been a total nightmare.Ive had to rebuild my roll under huge financial pressure, uncertainty that led to perma tilt , huge emotional and financial downswings.

Its taken alot of time and hard work to get my self back my feet mentally and roll wise.I recently got back to a position where i can grind 1/2 for the rest of the year and try and bank some money.
If the new full tilt think that i am going to put my new hard earned roll on their new site to unlock money that was stolen from me, they got another thing coming.

Essentially they want new liquid investment from me so they can free roll profit.not going to-happen.

Ive got a sick feeling its not going to matter anyway. Its kind of win win for them if they write-off the grinders large accounts, offer bonuses to fish, populate the site with weak players and and bingo grinders will jumping over each other to redeposit.

I really hope this isnt the case.

the only way i could see depositing to grind out your "superbonus" working is if only players with small balances doing that (which may comprise a significant % of the total amount owed). They can't really expect players with 50k to grind that out for years or however long it takes

My guess is they just want to see where people draw their line in the sand.

I disagree: DOJ will look like hero's to US players. They managed to convince some French dude to pay a bunch of money to cover the money stolen by FTP. Good job DOJ.

The ROW players can't claim that the DOJ f'd them over... without DOJ agreement NOBODY would be getting paid.

Tapie just says:

"ROW balances nothing to do with me. FTP owners robbed you, DOJ are going after their assets or you can sue them yourself. I purcahsed their software and brand, and will do ROW players a FAVOUR by giving them a bonus equivalent to their former balance and / or some shares in FrenchTapiePoker.com."

This is what I think is happening folks. I may be wrong or I may be right... but the bottom line is nobody has produced the $200m for the ROW players and nobody is looking likely to.

What happens if this doomsday scenario happens and the ROW players go on a strike and refuse to play and deposit, thereby denying the new site significant liquid capital? Does that sink GBT's investment rather quickly? Or does he win out in some other regard?

Yeah guys, if there ever has been a time where you can influence your own EV, make sure you let these people know you will not accept **** like having to redeposit to grind back your original roll. I mean, to me it's obvious that would be a disaster, but maybe not to Mr. Tapie .

Well,I have been call myself yesterday and I have no fake account and I am not a shill.Also some players from the german pokerstrategy forum reported that they received those calls today.I wish it wouldn't be true,but they are seriously considering this option it seems.
Also,I would accept,grind back my roll,cash out as soon as I got it back and then would never play there again.

The only other option I see is that this new 'survey' is made by one of FTP rivals to put out bad rumors....

But seriously, we don't even know for sure if that calls are made on behalf of GBT, tough I think probably they are. If that is the case, that's the exact definition of a trial balloon. They are trying to see how far they can go. Nobody said GBT is a NGO for poker players, but this option is so ******ed in so many levels that it seems inconceivable.
