All of that is available on pacer. Or if you're cheap you can look through the filings on Justia.

There has been a ton of discussion about the whereabouts and actions of Bitar and Lederer. What about Ferguson? Where is he these days? Was he at Howard's 100 person party? (kidding). But seriously, what is he up to and how come there has been sooo much less attention given to him? Is it because people believe Howard knew what was going on and Ferguson was unaware?

imo it's because HL and bitar are more known for their work at FTP, while most ppl would have said, that ferguson is just a sponsored pro.

according to Maria Mayrincks waxing lady (how waxed fergusons wife b/f BF), ferguson avoid the publicity

While you're making a list of lawyers from Pacer/Justia don't forget that a settlement of this monetary sum, if reports are true, requires the approval of the AGUSA, Eric Holder. Add him to your list. If you read the S.C. Levin letter,
http://docs.justia.com/cases/federal...64/377900/187/ ,
in particular the first paragraph, which gives the rationale for a delay, you'll notice that the request is by the "Government" and it doesn't mention negotiations or discussions between the parties being a reason for a delay but "certain ongoing settlement communications." That may be a lawyerly description of the transmission of the terms and conditions of a proposed settlement to DOJ Washington for approval. In effect, Eric Holder, AGUSA, has the final word on settlement.

Interesting, thanks. Is there much historical precedent for the AG blocking an agreed upon settlement that US attorney's helped orchestrate?

Preet is a Holder appointee, maybe?

If so there's almost no way Holder would get in the way of his own guy.

He didn't really imply how it was relevant to the FTP purchase. Obviously it all goes together, but it still doesn't answer what went 'wrong' assuming the deal was supposed to close and something happened.

Jesus enough of Matt Glantz already, who even visits his website?

I saw two settlements that required Assistant or Associate AGUSA approval be denied that I can recall. One was negotiated with the help of the Judge at a pre-trial conference and when the USAO had to inform him that the settlement had been turned down by Washington it was very unpleasant (for the USAO). The other was negotiated without the intervention of the court and just meant we had to change a few terms. I think most, maybe nearly all, are approved but it's not a rubber stamp.

Can someone in the know (calling DF) comment on this...

Specifically its implications on FTP and players getting paid. Thanks!!!

To me it sounds like wild speculation

One theory I've heard is that Wynn was supposed to be the purchaser but Ceasars pulled some political strings, either to block the deal in DC or threaten their hope of licensing in Nevada.

I just find it remarkable that stories once regarded as 'tinfoil hat' conspiracy fodder when Prospace suggested them are now being proffered by notable/respected people in the community.

Who is John Galt?

Dont jump to conclusions. I know of no current deal between PS&Caesars. Simply stating that it would make the most sense from a business perspective. They would obviously and instantly dominate the US market. Wouldn't necessarily be the best situation for US players.

no clue why schienberg would "sell" PS

cross license? partnership? yes.
