"We are excited to be part of this revitalization of Atlantic City creating thousands of jobs to help local employment," Jim Allen, chairman of Hard Rock International, said in a statement. "We are 100 percent convinced Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Atlantic City will be a success."

He said the company plans to invest $300 million in renovating and rebranding the property.
This is great news! Can't wait to see what the resort will look like with all the completed renovations.

interesting.

Seminoles have been eyeing AC for a while. Surprised they didn't just buy revel. Renovations at Trump Taj will be some heavy lifting.

Will be interesting to watch them execute and see what sort of share they can grow. Seminole mgmt team certainly understands and has experience in the AC market.

Prob good for poker too as Seminole's have such a strong poker business. Will create some healthy competition for the Borg.

Still haven;t heard much of any news from Amaya / Stars on their live room in AC. Market could get crowded quickly.

No reason out of the gate to expect them to fail. Hard Rock is a healthy, well managed company with plenty of experience in running casinos, they are (probably) going to be carrying very little debt to start (which is what has doomed other casinos like Revel and the Taj when they originally opened) and in spite of what you heard, the market doesn't lie... Harrah's is posting weekend room rates of $479 so there is a great demand for rooms down there.

Tons of upside to this announcement.

The jobs were already there though, they were at the Taj. It's just the same jobs rebranded.

Since Hard Rock is a national brand that just means more money will be syphoned out of AC, no?
