Five reasons to not play on Party Poker Five reasons to not play on Party Poker

I normally wouldn't start a thread in anger, but Party Poker has really taken it too far.
Here's why we shouldn't play on this horrible site anymore.

1. They allow cheating

A whilo ago, I was open sitting an anonymous table, and a well known high stakes player scripted and sat on my direct left.
The table breaks, I open a new one and he sits again within a tenth of a second. This went on for another four or five times.
I open support and tell him to watch the table. I re seat, and this guy instantly scripts me again. The support member confirms that this is blatant cheating and it will be investigated and they would contact me about the situation.
The scripter never received any punishment, and I was never contacted either.
I also sent them a list of offenders, which they said will be investigated. They're all still around.

The rules clearly state you can't use a script, yet they didn't do anything about it.

2. Changing the rake back system and expiring old points

I had over 21.000 points on Party Poker. I asked a support member if they would ever expire, and he told me that I can convert them whenever I want.
Nobody ever informed me about this change. I assume most recreationals had no idea either.
And now, my money is gone.

3. Software bugs

There's a bug where the buttons in the software chance.
For instance, when you raise, it calls and when you call, it folds. I have had this bug at least 10 times, and it has cost me comfortably over 2.500 dollar.
Not to mention the money I could have won when I had a good hand, or the EV I had on the table that I had to leave.
Folded a set of tens in a 1k 3bet pot on T92r cost me 450 dollars, but way more in reality.

I told support about this a couple of times. They said they would review it, and I never even got answer.
I'm currently in touch with the 2+2 party support staff, so I hope they will at least respond to me and reimburse me.

4. No reimbursement for disconnects on their end

I played a session across three sites, and Party went down. I was still able to play on the other sites, and browse the internet. I asked another player at the table and he had had the same problem.
Of course, support says they will have their team look into it, and I never get an email response. But I will get spammed with random promotions all the time.

5. Support staff disconnects when they feel like it

When I use the live chat function when there is an issue, often times they will disconnect on me in the middle of the conversation. I will have to open a new chat and tell the whole story again, only for them to leave again.

We simply want a fair opportunity to play poker, without being cheated on or stolen from.

Party Poker is a shady, greedy and dishonest poker site that condones cheating, doesn't give a damn about its customers and outright takes their money
We should boycott it until they own up their mistakes and start treating their customers fairly.

Sady Party seeems to have a History of making decisions that are just ridiculous. A couple of years ago they segregated the playerpools depending on your winnings without telling players

You noted you already play at two other sites. Enough with your "we should..." Move all your play elsewhere, tell them why, and enjoy.

Now i see why you hired Gazz a losing reg ev adjusted.

point 1: That's the waitlist
point 2: tons of emails were sent and it was discussed extensively on 2p2
point 3: hundreds of k's of hands on party, never happened. Could be one of the programs you use. My friends have never had that issue either.
point 4: very well known fact, its true but rarely happens.
point 5: probably has to do with you, i have used live chat quite often without issue.

how do you even leave out the illegal huds and the insane number of bots?

yeah party (and Party Leonard on twitter) continuously acts and brags like they are big shots, but in reality their software is around at the same level as it was in the tuff_fish videos, ridic.

as far as i know they sent out multiple emails to hs scripters to stop, but never made any real aftermath about them.

You do understand you could have lose the hand and tilt away your whole bankroll? So in a way party saved you some moneys.

Party ain't perfect and the hh format in the regular games is beyond idiotic but I have no problem grinding ff and sngs there. There is no such thing as a site with zero issues these days.

I've been saying this for a while I still think that while Party is overall going in the right direction, and is definitely the site to choose between Stars/Party, and are certainly less greedy/evil, there are a few things stopping them from truly growing. These are all issues that are hilariously easy to fix and it's absurd they haven't already:

1) Their support is terrible. It's ridiculous. 2-3 week response times, they are completely clueless about everything, etc. It's impossible to get help with the simplest issues without knowing someone "inside". I had some fairly big issues with them, and I got everything fixed (and reimbursed fair and square) with the help of one of their ambassadors and Colette on twitter. Before this I spent over a month without even getting a response to my email, and it seems for your average Joe getting the situation fixed would've been near impossible. They really need to hire more competent people in manager roles and better/more ground level support staff.

2) Their attitude towards cheating. I'm from the MTT world and there's a long list of colluders / bots that has been sent to their managers 100000 times and nothing's happened. Tons of them are playing right now, and have been playing for months and months with insane winrates. The evidence is all there and Party hasn't even bothered to look into it. I've also heard lots of horror stories from the cash world and am not at all surprised to learn about what Mixgrill wrote above. They are just completely incompetent security-wise and let cheaters roam around as much as they want. (This is also the situation on Pokerstars tho, millions were taken from the prize pools again this SCOOP by multiaccounters)

3) To a lesser extent, software. I don't think it needs any major fixes, it's good enough and a lot better than say 888, but there are tons of absurdly stupid bugs that should be easy to fix but they just don't seem to care. I think it's much more 1-2 than 3 that's stopping them from truly competing with Pokerstars, but fixing the software would also help.

The funniest part is that all of these would be super easy and cheap to fix. Hire 20 more people to handle emails at the industry minimum to reduce the workload, and 2-3 competent manager level people who know their ****. Get help to fix the security = again this won't take hiring too many people. Same with the software. It would take like one day's profits for them to fix everything. But all their care about is announcing more stupid super high rollers and live tournaments. How about you fix your product from the ground up and only focus on the icing on the cake once the actual cake is ready?

They've known about this for a year and still haven't bothered to even look into it. They are 100% bots. There are infinite similar examples proving that they just don't give a **** about security. Sadly I think it might just be because they don't have competent personnel. They seem ridiculously understaffed judging by how they can't even respond to a simple email within a week. So who would have time to look into a Russian bot ring?

I wouldn't go to the lengths of boycotting Party though. Stars have done WAY more greedy **** lately and Party is certainly our biggest hope of healthy competition in the future. To me it seems like it's much more of an incompetence issue than Party actually being greedy ****s like Amaya. Party growing is in every poker player's best interests.

But yeah these threads definitely serve a purpose because maybe Mike Sexton or someone will actually read them and finally do something. Their current ambassadors, managers et al don't give a **** about any of these actually serious issues and only focus on boasting about how there's a new $5200 highroller that zomg reached its guarantee.

Again, you gotta fix the tower from the bottom up to stop it from falling.

I have to say live support has been great for me. I had a lot in issue and was fixed in real time

Not saying they don't have issues but having live support should be standard these days

Not the biggest deal ever, but pissed me off. When I made my first deposit on Party I did the whole chat support thing to see what was the best bonus for me to receive... I didnt really want to play for the bonus(Im not a high volume player), so they agreed on a bonus without needing to have to accumulate FP's or whatever they call them, and a tournament ticket.... I deposited, got the bonus... tournament ticket was showing in cashier.... Fast forward a day and I go to use my ticket to register in a tourney and my ticket is no longer there... I contact support and they tell me i signed up through an affiliate site and they couldnt do anything. I literally downloaded the software from their site and contacted support to arrange my bonus, so I have no idea how I signed up through an affiliate... Anywho, I never played on the site again.

I was in a similar situation. Can I ask you when did you contact support?
If it wasn't for 2+2 I wouldn't have known either that the points would be deleted after May 22. So, I logged into my account and was planning on converting all my points (14 500, about $2000 just in cash bonus). To my surprise, I now had 0 points. I contacted support and they told me my points were gone due to inactivity. I know that poker sites usually takes a fee from you if you are inactive and got money on it, but points?

Well, I kept getting back at them and eventually got 6000 points. I'm glad I got something back at least.

I think it's dirty that they didn't tell you about their inactive rule when you asked them about the points, but as soon as the points are gone, they are happily pointing to their terms and conditions.

Give them an email, maybe you can get something back at least.

2. Changing the rake back system and expiring old points

They said around 2 months before the points were going to expire.

3. Software bugs

I have played more than 300k hands of fast forward and I never saw this bug.

4. No reimbursement for disconnects on their end

I have had very few disconnections to be honest and I have played a lot. I can count them with the hand of my fingers.

5. Support staff disconnects when they feel like it

Support is bad, I agree with you here. They can improve a lot in this area.
