let's not forget that he won the WCOOP main, which only has a $5200 buy in (meaning he likely had a very large piece of himself). Pretty unreal summer, congrats Fedor.

But that was two years ago, before he started to play high rollers.

In early 2013 he had a thread on a german poker forum to blog about his trip around the world.

He was still up a lot online at that point, would be surprised if he didn't have a very large piece of himself.

He played the 25k at PCA 8 months BEFORE winning that tournament (I can confirm because he was at my table).

Yeah very true

In a way Galfond did this, doesn't play anywhere near as much and has universal respect.

$10M in cashes is not anywhere near up $10K, as any tournament player knows. If he wins a lot, even if he sells action, he makes a lot, as he sells the action at a big markup.

I wouldn't really recommend the Bobby Fischer path.

Just gonna point out that if Joe had the AT of hearts and fedor had the K6 this might be the same thread but with joes name on top. Would've had him at 15M in 12 months as well. Tournament variance is crazy stuff and while fedor and Colman and anyone else who goes on a run like this is very very good, just realize that the upside of variance sometimes makes specific players seem like they are on a level a step above the rest of the elite players when in reality they are not.

Luckbox wins several small field events in small amount of time. Congrats on all the coin flips and coolers. See if it lasts, like it never does for live tourney clowns.

Wow, you mean that he won't be winning an average of $5M a month? I feel so disillusioned.

Recent interview with Fedor in German.

Transcript of most disputed points here:

"I currently have 100% of myself in every event."

"It's mostly a run. I mean, I do feel I'm one of the best player in every tournament but it's mostly luck."

"It's not that great a feat to win 3 40-man SNGs in a row. Final tabling the WSOP ME twice in a row is a 100-1000x more unlikely thing to do."

etc.

With this run, I don't know why he wouldn't keep 100% of himself ... at least until he doesn't cash once.

Wonder what odds I can get on fedor winning the main event? Currently at 90k(ish) chips?

So it was an hit an run :

“I’m not going to continue as a professional player,” said Holz.

After winning over $10,000,000 in the last six weeks Holz says he’s done with poker and is making plans to move on to the next stage of his life. He still has chips in the Main Event and returns to a stack of 93,300 for Day 1C on Wednesday. After the Main Event ends - whenever that is for him- the 22 year old plans on finding something else to do with his life that brings him a greater sense of personal satisfaction, he’s just not sure what that is yet.

At least he realizes he is just a massive luckbox and that, theoretically, it won't continue. Of course, his run good never should have occurred to the extent that it did, so who knows.

The kid has kind of rubbed me the wrong way on Chicagojoey pods, but him saying "this could be my way out of poker" immediately after winning the one drop is really mature/smart & shows a level of perspective and self awareness amazingly rare in the young & successful.

You call Fedor pathetic while failing to make an ounce of sense. How pathetic!

Im still currently supporting it and they received the money (and more). Im planning on going back to South America this or next year, so Ill visit it and report. They always have young germans who just finished school over there supporting them every year which is quite cool.
