Jamie Gold Poker Room at the Tropicana not closed Jamie Gold Poker Room at the Tropicana not closed

Apparently his affiliation with the Tropicana didn'nt last. The project lasted less than a month.

Oh yes and all that were eager to enroll in his seminar will have to ask for a refund...sorry now you won't know all the secrets that the pros didn't want you to know.

seems difficult to justify a pro / celeb endorsement for a poker room of that size. whether itsJamie Gold or almost anyone else it doesnt matter you cant have someone like that on the payroll and expect to recoup from table rake

☐ the end of an exciting chapter of poker history
☑ Ladies and gentlemen, Jamie has left the building

Even as big of a failure this was, it brought the trop poker room back into discussion about where to play.

But the 2/5NL game (with David Williams and other pros) that sprung up in the Jamie Gold room looked to be growing successfully — running regularly on Wednesdays and Saturdays — as it was fast becoming known as the biggest 2/5NL games in Las Vegas, with reports of pots as big as $20,000.

Remember when someone saying something like this was laughable

I wish it was successful and continued much longer.

The Trop website still has all Jamie Gold stuff up - videos, the seminar stuff, and all that:

http://www.troplv.com/casino/poker-room

Says nothing about anything being cancelled or closed.
I watched the video, and LOLed when Jamie Gold said that he lived there. Is that a brag to him?

I played with Jamie Gold in that 2-5 game last time I was in Vegas. Personally, I don't see why people dog the guy. First off, he was very polite and personable with everyone in the room. And second, he donked off three $1000 buyins in less than 2 hours. What is there to rag on?

L-D-O ldo L-D-O

Was there ANY other outcome even possible?

That being said..wish it had lasted. They are only like 8 years to late to capitalize on that name though or whenever he won. Poker needs to find it's way back into the limelight and draw the fishes..won't happen in the US until there is regulation on a nationwide scale...see you for the next poker boom in 2020.

Seriously though, in the US I doubt there is EVER another "Moneymaker effect". A big splash by big names and everyone being allowed to be involved was all that was needed in this last year for poker to get back to it's boom era popularity. That door is closed firmly and forever.

Jamie Gold denies the report:

I was there last Saturday night and there was only one table going. A 2/5 table and no Jamie Gold.

I hope the rumours are false as I wanted to vacation in vegas this summer and meet the world champ.

I wrote the Pokerati story, and I'm still waiting to hear from Jamie or someone at the Trop, explaining the changes at the room.

If you watch the video on the Trop poker room's website, he says, "I'm going to be here just about every night, playing in every game in the room." Quite simply, that's no longer true.

I stopped by last night, in attempt to chat with Jamie, but he wasn't there.

If I hear from him, I will certainly update my story on Pokerati and post about it here.

Today, he tweeted that the "MONEY BACK Guarantee!" seminar was March 25, not March 17, as indicated on the flier.

I picked up this flier. You can clearly see "Mar 17" in black marker on the top left.

Jeez this guy has no shame, how embarrassing!

If you can see your opponent's hole cards, you will make money. By making mistakes we are able to see our hole cards. When our opponents can see our hole cards we will profit from our mistakes.

His poster bullet points are all false. Prolly has never read a poker book, hasn't learned squat from the masters, and he doesn't have a lifetime of squat. Ok, he did learn from johnny chan, but chan prolly wanted him to stfu during the ME.
