"Charles Oakley" was being paged to my gate for my flight out of McCarran sunday night and I was curious to see if it was the real Charles Oakley but he never showed up for the flight and now I know why haha.

Has there been any word about just how many warnings Oakley had been given, either on this trip or on others? I cannot fathom an arrest for a single black chip without there being a history. Not to say that it couldn't have occurred, but it seems like they often warn people for this (at least if some of the radio chatter has been correct).

be funny if he actually tried to pull back his lone black chip as opposed to 1 or 2 green chips

BTW I believe I can recall a time Oakley wanting to beat a guy up over gambling debts in the nba. I can't remember if he ended up having an on court scuffle over it or not.

While I enjoyed watching Laimbeer, Oakley, and others grind the NBA game to a race-to-90 contest, w their emphasis on defense and hard fouls, I was both inspired and disappointed when I heard about the incident leading to him being barred from MSG.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say I think he did it this time. Likely mitigating circumstances (morally speaking, might won't help him legally) include: how much he'd been drinking, not fully comprehending how likely someone will get caught when they try this, prob wasn't premeditated, and not realizing how big a deal this is to the casinos in LV.

In basketball terms, Mark Jackson put up a 3 and Oakley realizes it's likely a brick (along w every person in the arena) and threw an elbow jostling for position under the net. Instead of raising his hand and taking the personal foul, he instead argues his case w Donaghy, thinking he will get a warning. But Donaghy took the over and T's him up once and then again, triggering an ejection, along w Oakley's temper. Oakley gets escorted back to the locker room by Pacers security, shaking his head, ignorant to the chokehold Vegas money had on his games back then and in the present.

The Oak Tree never once committed a loose ball foul. Just ask him.

Yeah it probably was a result of gambling on the plane. I think was with some guy who wasn't a teammate (any more), I think it was for tens of thousands of dollars but under 100k. He might've gotten into a pregame scuffle with the guy before a game. Not sure if Oak ever got paid back, or even if maybe he was suspended for a game because of his actions. 'Twas a while ago.

Oh ok, well I found an article...apparently oak charged him double his actual gambling debt LOL. It was with Tyrone Hill.

Oakley won't admit to having a drinking problem or a gambling problem. So, we'll just call it an Oakley problem.
