I actually enjoy occasionally discussing tournament histories, solving hands and watching videos. But if there are people who are able to mimic solver play without doing any of that, ie play unexploitably and are unable to lose long-term, then all seems like a pointless exercise.
We still have soft mtt's for now, and I guess live will still be profitable for a very long time, but this is all certainly disheartening and discouraging. Especially considering that this is likely very widespread - I've actually suspected this of certain people I've spoken to who seemed poor when discussing strategy yet claimed they 'just play as close as possible to GTO' (as if it's that easy) when grinding high-stakes cash games.
I've also watched a large part of the Kanu7 Upswing course and the 'private solver' that he had developed seemed to have an absolute ton of saved boards with the solver action for such boards, that could easily be referred to in game. (disclaimer: I'm NOT for one minute suggesting he in any way cheated, but am suggesting that if that kind of private software is floating around then cheating in this Kruse fashion seems very feasible and easily done)
Then there is also a comment that the real cash game God (some know him as Sauce123, others as Ben Sulsky) made either whilst streaming on Twitch or in a Rio video whilst playing against the Pokerstars Elite, about the use of real-time software and that he hoped his 'old-man tricks' would still see him in good stead. He brought it up very briefly and then decided not to elaborate, but it was clear that he knew something.
The cliffs of all this being that even in my relatively little experience with Poker, I've encountered what I'd consider to be enough information to tell me that cheating is going on on a massive scale. That's aside from common sense stating the glaringly obvious: there are millions of dollars to be made at a game that can very largely be solved, and therefore OF COURSE cheating is going on on a massive scale.
