Well the theory is still the same. The writer is saying that Lindgren doesn't make stupid bets. Meanwhile he's betting sports every day and is donking off 7 figures in fantasy sports.

I think we really have to reevaluate every basic assumption about these guy´s net worth.

Everything we ever heard about them on TV was PR/lies/**** made up to get us play online poker (I know I exaggerate, but you get my point).

I have to admit I thought Erick Lindgren was pretty wealthy until yesterday. And now I have to read these private messages where he uses his child of 6 months to justify him dodging 2.8k payments. (He probably flipped for 100 times that amount in donkaments.) Just ****ing unreal.

Fwiw a good friend that happens to be in at least a couple of leagues w/ edog and knows all the money that is owed (because they are posted in the league boards) has the # edog owes at $250k+, also I was in a league w/ him as well and know his # in that specific league, so this thread title doesn't grasp how much of a hole he really is in (over $250k and across many leagues)...

These kinds of people(EDOG, LEDERER, FERGUSON, etc) were always associated with poker and the gambling lifestyle. Once it became mainstream thanks to Moneymaker, hole cards cameras and ESPN - we put these guys on a "normal" everyday level. The fact is, they were all still the same people borrowing money left and right, gambling their whole bankroll away over and over again, etc.

Bottom line is that the whole poker gambling lifestyle has always had many more degens then respectable people and it always will. From T.J Cloutier asking everyone he lays his eyes on for $300 all the way to Lederer and Ferguson.

I'm sure at many points over the past few years, E-DOG was asking himself how he ever got to be a "famous poker pro" earning $250,000 a month for doing nothing. Well, he had his highs - now he's going to have a lot more lows.

I feel bad for the guy. Granted, I'm not one of his creditors. But after watching a few of his interviews on YouTube he really does seem like a nice guy at heart. And he's probably in a lot of pain/stress right now. He sure messed up his life, and it's not a good situation. This kind of crap is just all too common in the poker world lately.
