I'm surprised NioNio hasn't been mentioned, although admittedly I haven't seen him at the tables lately

As I said without sarcasm - I don't know much about HU play, much less about who could and should challenge Durr, but why the hilarity when I mention stevesbets? Is he not highly rated, or is he bust, or does he not play at those stakes? Someone enlighten me please.

btw i would lay 3/1 on this happening imo.

Hastings and CTS don't appear to have had big winning years in 2008 and i doubt they have the roll to risk $500k + potentially a few million more if they get killed in the 50k hands played.

Ivey or PA imo but i doubt it will happen

Guy Laliberte imo

does it matter that durrrr is best at heads up?

maybe he doesnt realize he is basically playing everyday with pros who are live big buy in multi table tournament pros who dabble in cash games heads up??

How about this durrrr.... make the same challenge but play 50k hands HU of every form of poker on ftp and you'll really see who the best hu player is.

Ivey would make you his

durrrr enjoys burning money it seemes
unless he gets like 10 challenges and chooses the worst player, then he is not burning money.

i think if the sample was bigger then it would be more neutral ev, but imo 50k is too little.

i'd do the challenge if the sample was 5 hands

I'm with the guy who said that this type of posturing is usually followed by a fat downswing. As best as I can tell, poker is a cutthroat battle for the greatest edge, and Durrrr is still one of those testosterone-fueled young guys who keeps letting his ego and need to prove himself get the best of him.

Reminds me of that tournament where Adam Junglen decided to call a 3-bet by Antonius just because he wanted to try to outplay him, and ended up facing a shove by him on the flop with something like Ace high in an already huge pot...for no reason whatsoever when he should've just been coasting into the next day.

Isn't the point of being better than the other sharks that you can outplay them when you end up FORCED to do so to win the tournament or the money? Just like the way Jordan COULD finish around 3 guys at the basket if he had to...but always took the easiest and most efficient route to scoring? PURPOSEFULLY putting yourself into difficult situations is just...pointless and kind of immature.

But at least it's entertaining...

[x] Galfond cannot accept challenge

[x] Whoever accepts challenge will be playing both Durrrr and Galfond

[x] Obvious

Daniel Negreanu.

it's gonna be ivey or noone eh?
01-03-2009 , 03:39 AM
this is pretty sick and all this is saying is that durrrr thinks he is the best online player... and huge angle shot here but he doesn't specify game in that challenge although we all know it is plo or nlhe but horse he would get wrecked

also i saw durrrr and ivey playing 500/1000 HU today and they normally don't play HU so maybe it has already been accepted

I'd say that Durrrr is ****ing himself up with this challenge, because anyone likely to accept will have a 25% chance of winning it. And I suspect he could care less.

( ) ivey and durrrr don't normally play HU

Ivey would make you his b!tch!!!
OR, maybe he makes a baller challenge in games HE plays. He never claimed to be the best HU player in EVERY game, although he;s damn good, but LOF'nL at him both "not realizing" and his opponents being MTT pros who dabble. Exactly what MTT pros are you referring to?

50k hands HU is a TON, and easily enough hands to discern an edge. I'd venture to say no 2 players in poker history have played 50k hands HU. And that includes Moss and Dandolos.

yeah live would be better cus durrrr obv sucks live and online is rigged amirite?
01-03-2009 , 04:03 AM
you need to get the challenge out there -- I suggest lifetime
01-03-2009 , 04:04 AM
Much more skill to live poker, dont think he could win. Hes also the beneficiary of tiltware software code
01-03-2009 , 04:07 AM
