DURRRRS MILLION DOLLAR CHALLENGE (Ivey and PA accept) DURRRRS MILLION DOLLAR CHALLENGE (Ivey and PA accept)

this is pretty interesting... optimal strategy to play vs durrr though would be to play a super high variance game if you are down and to play very, very tight if you are up on him. could be some very weird looking hands towards the end of this match.

I personally think this has to be a bad bet but probably not as bad as it looks.... that being said if i had the money and thought i was better or a pretty fair fight vs tom, I'd do this.

Obviously?

Man that's so ****ing cool. Props to Durrr.

The legit options are the Dang's, CTS, Raptor and maybe Antonius....Ivey would never ever agree to do 50k hands and durrrr fears jman...but i do think it is +EV for a couple people out there...the real issue for anyone besides antonius is backers because none of the others would willingly play for what could be between 500,001-2.5 mil that could be lost...not sure at what point if someone was down they'd buy out, but i doubt they'd lose more than that...

possible profits are probably about 1.5mil-4mil

Can someone stake me in this? I can provide stats/graphs showing I'm a winning player.

i hope this happens.

hopefully FWF accepts so his ego can be buried.

50k hands at 600 hands/hour (reasonable estimate 4 tabling i think) = ~83 hours
3 hours/day = ~28 days

using PA as an example, in December 08 (comparable timeframe to the prospective bet), he played 11651 hands and ~298 hours, so an average of ~39 hands/hour. if PA thought he were even very slightly +EV in this it would obviously be a better use of his time than the playing he is doing now. he'd be getting in many more hands, and a possible 1.5 mil + money won plus the challenge, notoriety etc. would def be worth his time.

the excuse of this challenge not being worth it is clearly not a valid one on that point alone. thinking they don't have an edge or if they do an extremely tiny one, or not wanting to deal with the stress or lower quality of life that a challenge such as this might bring (i'd imagine a 50k hand HU match with durrrr would be pretty taxing for anyone), is a decent excuse, but no one should be saying oh dumb challenge tons of people are +EV in this but its not worth their precious time.

I hope this goes down. Would be sick if we could get a Cole South vs Durrrrr or Krantz vs durrrrrr etc.

durrrr seems so stoy

No doubt this will happen (bragging rights, ego, new challenge). If durr offered even money it would still happen,if the 50k rule was altered.

Very exciting indeed.

Funny nobody mentions Townsend anymore. How far the mighty have fallen.

this will definitely happen with SOMEONE at some point, im sure

Honest but stupid move of Durrr to say this challenge isn't open too Phil Galfond. Phil would have never accepted, so nobody would have known Durrr was scared of Phil. Now everybody is thinking: wauw Galfond must be the best. So without lifting a finger, Galfond became the best thanks to Durrr. A challenge proving he is the best in the world gone wrong before it even started...

Aren't durrrr and jman great friends who don't want to take eachother's money? I'm sure I read something from one of them saying they won't sit in a table if the other's HU against a fish.

No doubt durrrr has great respect for jman's game though and probably doesn't think he has enough of an edge to make this bet +EV against him.

QFT stinger is +ev at even odds IMHO

stinger is in the high stakes thread...along with another major exemption from this thread

Yeah I was surprised to not hear any mention of Brian Hastings prior to recent poster. He is commonly discussed as being one of the first to really master the game, and he no doubt is very talented and comfortable playing at 200/400 PLO.

Also, I doubt raptor would play, given his close friendship to Tom as well. I think the most likely would be Antonius. Would be funny to see Hansen play him though.

The thing about stinger is that he recently had a downswing and dropped to 25/50(which doesnt necessarily mean hes on money trouble for 200/400 or w/e). But getting people to back him up because I believe its not about the money but about who thinks he has an edge big enough to make it profitable to back him up(sry bout english fwiw)
