If you're 10 tabling you can't be expected to remember how 30 other people play so a HUD helps you make decisions based on the general tendencies of the other players. If you've played the last 6000 hands HU against the same person, if your reads aren't way more specific and game-flow related than you can get from a HUD, and if you're not adjusting more frequently than every 2000 hands, then you shouldn't be playing 2/4, let alone 200/400.

No research needed. When Dwan first issued the challenge at the beginning of 2009 he said would not play Galfond in the challenge because 1) they were friends and 2) Galfond had a lot of experience versus him. Interpret that however you wish.
