for the last time you idiots, if they wanted to play 50k hands at 2-1 odds then they'd do it privately and do it at their own pace. Setting up websites, doing magazine interviews and becoming FTP pros means they want an audience. All they have is a strung out 2 year old challenge and now another one that people are rapidly losing interest in because they bang out 8k hands in half a week, then nothing for a month.

You are right. They don't any of these things for the enormous monetary incentives that comes with them, they do it to feed their inflated egos. How stupid of me

and they have audience,no matter how much you complain you are still reading every thread about durrrr challenge,no matter how much they stall you complainers will still be there watching him play

durrrr gave 3-1 not 2-1 odds and he made it public so ppl who dont know him would accept it or some well known guys would accept because they dont want to look like bumhunters who only play fish and are afraid of guys like durrrr, getting audience is just a bonus

if i told you on ftp chat that im giving 3-1 odds to anyone to play me hu,how will some guy from ipoker or other networks know im giving it to anyone, its much faster and efficient to make it public info so everyone knows it

Durrrr has some pretty large bets on winning a bracelet.. With the WSOPE going on right now, why is anyone surprised he isn't grinding tourneys all day then playing 4 HU tables against one of the worlds best all night?

I am sure no matter what his bankroll, losing the bracelet bets and the challenge bet with JM12 at the same time would be difficult.

there were never more than roughly 20 people that could/would take up the challenge, without being backed anyway. Point was the whole challenge was beneficial for him to get advertised etc. to get his sponsorship and now he has it's prob not a surprise that he cba with it anymore.

Didn't they say in chat they would get back to playing after the WSOPE?
something about one possible short session, then back at it after europe.

So basically whats going on is they played 7k hands in the first week or so, agreed they wouldn't play til after the the WSOPE main, and people think durrrr is avoiding playing?

Who cares, Howard Lederer is a better HU NLHE player than Jungleman12 anyway.

It seems to have worked! He got interest by total randoms such as: Patrik Antonius, Jungleman12, and Phil Ivey. They would still be grinding it out on iPoker if it wasn't for this public declaration, and durrrr would be busto because he would not have all these fish playing him.

do you not remember how dead the games were before he issued the challenge? once antonius accepted there were huge games running constantly. even the jungleman bet seems to have jump started the games a bit.... and he ended up getting a sponsorship from FTP and he started doing a TV show that revolves around him. So I think he has come out pretty good since he issued the challenge.

I never implied that it wasn't for personal publicity, because it is pretty obvious that was a huge part of the EV.

jungleman is really sneaky if Tom is correct of Jungle only wanting to play when Tom has
been online v long time, and dodges other times. Hoping its just coincidences :/

jungleman12: i dont think he has an edge at nl
jungleman12: very confident of that

Mr_Niceness: im not a durr spy btw haha... yeah im sure ure right, esp at 3 to 1... would u take it at even money 1mil side bet or something (btw i realise any of these Qs could be over stepping the line, so feel free not to answer any, np obviously)
jungleman12: i would have played him straight up
Mr_Niceness: i got $6k down on u to win now btw...

and for people that say that "well he didnt have to give jungleman the side action cause he would have played him straight up"

do you think that if jungleman started getting destroyed by durrrr in the next 15-20k hands they played he would be so eager to give him action at 200/400? He thinks he has an edge and wanted to lock in 50k hands with him so when/if jungleman starts losing he cant back out and refuse action to him.
