Is it rude in a tournament? Is it rude in a tournament?

If a guy is all in and is taking for ever to turn over his cards out of superstition, to just turn them over for him?

Never touch another players cards

Not only is it bad etiquette, it's against the rules.
03-05-2015 , 09:37 PM
how about wrong, or penalty worthy?

Just tell him he has to turn over his cards. Never touch cards. Good way to get throttled.
03-05-2015 , 09:42 PM
Either way, you have to blame the parents.
03-05-2015 , 09:57 PM
Is someone dealing the cards? If so,suspect they have a role in the proceedings.

If I am not mistaken, both/all hands must be tabled before any more cards are put out.

So idk how this really applies to a tournament.

In a cash game, yes this is extremely rude.

It is dealers job to control the table, and deal the cards.

Probably why the OP posted. He got throttled, and now wants from sympathy from those who will say he was in the right.

I would think it ONLY applies to a tourney. If it's a cash game, he leaves them down and it's not a problem. In a tourney, they can't proceed until he tables his cards (as you said), which means he's holding up the action.

OP, what was the dealer doing while this transgression was going on?

no thats standard

I generally turn them over out of superstition
03-05-2015 , 10:44 PM
Its bad etiquette but i wish it wasnt. Post-showdown tanking is so annoying

I actually havent done it yet, but would like to sometime just to see what the hell happens, or maybe see someone do it, to see if the players whose hand gets turn over gets mad, and over what. lol

Possible outcomes

1) A penalty from the floor

2) A smack in the face

I'm kinda hoping two because actually wanting to break the rules just to see what happens is kinda scummy

Doing it to the wrong person would be a nice way to get your hand broken.

If it's Phil Laak your playing let him keep them face down.

Lol. Blame parents seems to be the best response. Only once in my life have I seen or had a a player turn over another player's hand.

And it was mine. I was HU against this chick, went to the river, I bet, she thought and eventually folded. She said she wanted to see my hand, I just shook my head no. She reaches over as I am moving my hand face down towards the dealer, and exposes my hand and says "Oh, you did have the Ace!" Everyone stops talking and looks around like, wtf? Instantly I was like, wait, she can't do that, is there nothing to be done about this?

There wasn't. So IDK. End of useless story, go Mavs.

Nitrunner obv thats scummy for her to do that but i dont think thats what op meant
03-06-2015 , 12:58 AM
Was she hot? Because if she's hot, yes its annoying, but it's still considered acceptable behavior....because let's face it, hot girls are allowed to do whatever they want.

But if she was a fatty of some fugly girl, I would immediately call the floor.

I'm not saying it's right, but that's just how the world works.

Would have done. Confirmed bitch.
