nothing out of the ordinary... until Doyle whips out a gun at the end?! As if that isnt wierd enough... looks like hes got one in his waistband too..

All the road gamblers carried guns in the 60's and earlier. Those games were held up by robbers often and you couldn't report losses to the police because it was illegal to gamble to begin with.
