Doyle Brunson Hacked Doyle Brunson Hacked

08-06-2020 , 02:33 PM
Hi Everyone:

I anyone receives an email from Doyle Brunson asking for a favor or for money, please ignore it. It's some sort of scam and Doyle is aware of it.

Best wishes,
Mason

You mean he is not on a cruise off the coast of Nigeria with General Wainwright ?

I like how Mason implies that most people on 2p2 would personally receive non-scam emails from Doyle Brunson.

Am I the only one around here he doesn't exchange emails with? What stakes do I need to beat to join the non-scam Doyle Brunson email club? Can he look at some hand histories for me?

You mean he won’t send back double the Bitcoin I send him?

And what exactly has been clicking on then? The game's up Brunson.

I think that's your inference, not his implication. I assumed he was posting here because among our hundreds of thousands of members, there's likely to be a few who actually could receive an email from Doyle, and letting them know is worth starting a thread that doesn't apply to the vast majority.

Wait, Doyle doesn't exchange chili recipes with you as well?

I have him on "ignore"

Good thing I know because if Doyle were to ask me for money through the internet I would probably send it.

What? I see no such implication. No one would believe "most people" on this site get emails from Doyle, but certainly a significant number might. Probably more here than in any other single online community.

As for whatever happened, I wonder if Doyle got spoofed rather than hacked. I've received emails that appear to be from a friend or co-worker, but if you peek closely into the source code or you simply look at the Reply To address, the purported sender isn't the source of the email. Furthermore, that friend or co-worker then checks their account, and everything looks fine.

Good news everyone,

Multiple posters have informed me I am not the only person here who is not in the non-scam Doyle Brunson email club.

i got a text from doyle asking for money, should i send it?

JohnCleese has it right. People don't usually get their email hacked unless they've been clicking on something dodgy.

The recipe he sent me had beans in it. If you put beans in it, IT'S NOT CHILI!

Chili is awesome with beans.

And without.

The secret to good chili is to stick the right amount of chocolate and whiskey in it.

ANOTHER WAY TO TELL IF AN EMAIL IS REALLY FROM AN 86 YEAR OLD IS THAT IT WILL BE IN ALL CAPS.

It's called chili con carne, not chili con frijoles....

In Texas, in the state chili cookoff, you would be disqualified if you put beans in your chili.

Fish Sauce. Sounds gross, but trust me, fish sauce.

So putting in beans is the right way to do it?

Worcestershire.

Aside from that, have a bunch of iTunes gift cards handy so you can just send the numbers and pins when asked rather than making a separate trip to buy them.
08-07-2020 , 11:46 AM
I thought those should only be used to pay the "tax department" when they call and threaten.

Nice to hear from you still Doyle. Keep in touch
