I always think it is odd when someone says they 'retire' from poker... I mean it is a game you can always go back.

Doyle earned it though

lie detector tests are complete garbage (there's a reason why they're inadmissable as evidence in a court of law...)

I knew these old guys were cheats but, they have no respect for the game or any player that plays in it. Feel more sorry for Bobby Baldwin. I’m sure he is disappointed in them and embarassed. I know they are doing everything they can to calm the scandal but, it has spread to every high roller in the country. They don’t feel safe there anymore. People are moving to other casinos. Thanks Doyle and Billy you have tainted the poker world one again. You also have made Howard look like mother Teresa.

Billy was indeed playing everyday during the timeframe of the accusations as was Doyle. It wasn't odd for Doyle to be there but seeing Billy in the room everyday was not normal.

The floorman floored anytime the game was going. He would stay until the game broke. He was working like 18 hours a day. Someone was approving his overtime. Him leaving a premier floorman spot immediately after seems odd timing.

Doug Dalton getting let go a few months after.

I had no clue as to the method of cheating that was being accused until Bob mentioned it in this thread which reminded me that around the same time the dealers were givin a new step in their dealing procedure that was basically the only thing that could be done to make this cheat device viable without dealer knowledge, which I think is pretty damning and I've never seen mentioned before. In fact I've only seen this "scandal" mentioned on here once by Private World (which reminded me of the floor guy leaving abruptly) and in a couple of random comments like the one I linked previously. In fact, I would say it's crazy how under the radar it has flown and how no one here seems to care.

Hey, the SEC investigated but the case was dropped. That's all water under the bridge now...

Interesting special. Hearing the narrator describe the Triple Draw action towards the beginning and confusing it with 5-Card draw Hi is lol

Genealogy is my hobby so this stuff is easy for me to look up. I'm interested in Doyle's genealogy because I have a 2X great aunt that married William Lee Brunson in Newton County, Mississippi in 1878. They had many children. Doyle's grandfather, Joel Tilford Brunson, was from Tallahatchie County, Mississippi. Remember the Tallahatchie Bridge? If Doyle and William Lee are from the same stock, most likely they are but I'm still doing the research, it would mean Doyle and I have cousins in common but not blood related.

Genuine question not trying to troll, but is Doyle still a winner in today's cash games, or has he become somewhat of a "respected donator"?

Best wishes Dolly and thanks for all the great memories.

Not sure which was more valuable, your insights in Super System or the example of class and respect for the game you showed at the table.

Thank goodness for HSP, PAD etc. and all the recordings where those of us never lucky enough to chip/chair it with you still got to know you.
