The Downfall of PokerStars? The Downfall of PokerStars?

I've been playing on PokerStars for close to two decades.

What in the world has happened to PokerStars support? You literally have to chat with an AI bot who can not answer the most basic of questions. There are no email addresses to email and they will not speak to you over the phone.

They've lost my business. If they can longer provide sufficient support on simple issues, can they actually still be trusted in the security of their games?

No, they cannot be trusted.

Like it has to be said - but we really didn't know exactly how good we had it on Stars from around 07 until 4/15/11.

And it's hard to convince a lot of people of this, but in the US the best and closest thing we have to that right now is Global. Support is occasionally hit and miss but payouts are instant.

I started playing at stars in 2002. before I used to play planet and some others I can't remember.
Pokerstars was absolutely from another planet! I played on all the existing rooms in that period: paradise, party, ap, ub, and all the others many lasted a few months and then closed.

The support responded almost immediately to emails was kind and helpful they gave you a lot of bonus, gifts, free money.
the tables were full all limits all kind of games 24/7.
the tournaments. the graphics was perfect the client was fast never a problem.

I remember the years middle 2000 up to black friday 2011: stars and fulltilt it was all that a player needed.

I think stars is getting bar rep here, flutter took over a site which amaya completely destroyed and they are doing there best for recovery.
Also the support is 10x better than it was under amaya, i see alot of people complaining about the bot, its not hard to use, you literally type your question select the options from what it offers as
suggestions of what your problem is closest related to and then once done you go through to live support after about 2 clicks. Seems to me alot of impatient or stupid people who don't realise this.

I mean currently i open up the tables and the lag is so strong that it feels like i'm entering a time warp into another dimension that is about to blow up my intestines and make my eyeballs pop out- this is not what opening a table should be like. What is it made of or made for? Is it made for having a direct remote screen to your desktop that it lags so hard?

You mean the live support that answers a question with a scripted response that has nothing to do with the question that was asked? Yeah that is great support.

They engage with the community on discord. They still seem accessible to me and respond quickly to questions and are often seen to be helping people out with problems.

What's crazy is I was looking up a $22 tourny guarantee from 5 years ago, it was 35k, now it barely hits 8k daily

I agree, they have lost me as a customer. My son decided to self exclude. We live in the same house, so my account was locked too.

Several attempts to resolve via poker stars support over the last few years has resulted in zero response. So **** em’

They had a money printer and instead of putting paper in the paper tray they shat in it.

When I am trying to get in contact with them they answer in the chat within minutes. And when I email them I get a response pretty fast that way.

Stars was never my main site during the heyday of online poker as I thought the games were better elsewhere-but their customer service was absolutely phenomenal. I can even remember people on here emailing them things like "write a poem for me" and they would. Haven't used them since Black Friday even though they have a NJ but it's sad to hear their CS has fallen off so much.

Discord should not be the option, Stars needs to do it them self via their software. A rec won't find it on discord.

Stars launched in Spring 2001

Stars were just the absolute nuts basically up until they got bought out by Amaya. I doubt we'll ever again see an online pokerroom run as well as they were.

My account got hacked my money got dumped and all my points were converted to cash which was then dumped. When I emailed them they confirmed my account was hacked and comprised and advised me to change my password. They did not refund the stolen money. It was at that point I knew stars was done. This was in 2017 or 18.

From Estonia- should never have any issues. Didn't have that sort of table opening lag back in the day- everything really was smooth. Now i have set everything to minimal and disabled all kinds of animations and so on and it still can't open the table flawlessly. Same when i close the client- it lags out so badly for a sec.

Ok, I was pretty sure it was closer to Spring, like May ? (I was watching the industry pretty closely, as my site had just launched in March. However, my memory can be faulty.

I'm in Ontario, Canada so thought maybe it was a local thing but I guess not

Private companies going public is usually the starting point to quality being lowered

Normally a few months before as they stop all but necessary services to make their numbers look better. Then the new people running it either look bad by doing all the delayed expenditures and get fired/no bonus or they do even worse to pump up the numbers a bit more.
