When did hedging or making a market become hustling? If you don't like the odds don't bet.

Note that things like this become worse bets as time goes on in the sense that at the end of the challenge if Sauce is losing (but not a blowout) then he is incentivized to play in a suboptimal higher variance way for the sake of the sidebet. The further into the challenge WCG is ahead, the more likely it is that sauce is losing at the end.

How can ignoring someone you owe money PMs be reasonable even if you have "delt with with a bunch of 5 and 6 figure amounts of money in transfers and what not with no negative results"? Guess anything under 10K not important enough?

Not sure whether you're referring to my post, but I used the word hustling. To be clear, I have no issues with people offering ridiculous odds. I still call it hustling. More in a sense of http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=hustle.

let the market dictate that. if someone takes him up on it, then the fair price is 5.5 until someone gets 5.4 and so on

this isnt like the MTT action marketplace where people can and will twist results or tell lies to make themselves look like a better investment. everything is out in the open here, sauceboss vs wcg. do some math and make a counter offer.

zzzzz

OK Clayton, i will change that. Don't think it was particularly out of line, but I'm not a native speaker..

And the guy just asked for an opinion on what others think the fair odds are. Seems like a fair thing to ask for opinions/info in order to form proper expectations, in order to potentially participate in the market that will ultimately dictate the "fair" price, as you have outlined. So no need for the zzzz

Market pricing is normally fair for both parties. If it isnt fair then market will change.

Doesn't change much, that would be counteracted by the fact that WC would be incentivized to play a low variance style in the event that he's up a little bit close to the end.

You could just escrow with a third person unless your friends and its not a big deal. There are also escrow services

how slow are you.. if you want to pay from your bank why don't you just transfer money/wire to an escrow before hand, stop acting dumb

You need to lighten up and enjoy life. The best people to bet against are your friends. Do it while they are there, do it loudly, and make sure there are many witnesses. Include silly hats or other shaming side stipulations.

So that I dont have to give them my money directly, but that I am forced to pay from my bank account in case I loose??
escrow means exactly giving up the money. Check here. You can't scam someone if a trusted third party already has your money. That would be the entire point. What you're describing would be more like a FTP payment processor.
