You're thinking of the same player, but AFAIK he wasn't long-term losing, just more a rakeback pro who was mass-tabling FR with small winrates. Around 2009-2010 he switched to HU and just started killing it. So yeah, definitely one of the cooler turnaround stories on 2p2 imo.

No one is going to be stupid enough to bet with you unless you escrow.

That would involve both parties sending the agreed $ to a trusted third party who would then settle the bet and pay the winner.

anyone that understands variance knows that sauce is no way a 5.5/1 dog here. Swings between two of the best HUNL players in the world (edges are v small) can be huge, 20-30bi's can be won or lost easily within a couple thousand hands if either player runs well.

the actual line would be a lot closer to 2-2.5/1, ($10 bet would return either $30 or $35)

Yup I was thinking yesterday that 9/4 is about right i.e. 2.25/1

It will be hard for Sauce to win this but taking him now at 9/4 or bigger would be the best bet that has been available on either player since a book opened on this.

it's not even about his laying ******ed odds, i have a much bigger problem with the fact that he claims to be bffs with WCG and is now looking to bet against him? kid has a questionable character to say the least. and he responds with
