I'll agree with you that there's a difference between rationally deciding on your direction in life and then following through, that Doug's probably done upon later reflection (HU dead, poker state , he's peaked, tourney circuit is annoying etc.)
But when it's rationally overall +ev (incl. life utility) managing your drive, and motivation through habits, approaches and things like meditation, tweaking mental approach etc. etc. is totally a skill and a lot of strategically great people don't understand that and play play play and just burn out and quit.

And of course I'll see life through my lens. E.g. for me rationally in Doug's position streaming poker for one single hour, per week in his challenge, to keep the buzz, flow to upswing and his promise to people going seems like higher EV than putting in streams of WC3 and fortnite for hours. Maybe I'm wrong here, maybe but if I'm not then Doug is lacking the skills to make himself do, or want to do that

EDIT: Of course I made the initial remarks when Doug was just inactive, as I said there could be something great there on the mainstream news channel and he's working on it hard

It's close to impossible to get a balanced source if you're impartial and e.g. Don't want the punchline and stance of the topic telegraphed miles in advance (colbert and Snl- anti Trump no matter what. People like mark dice and Fox - cherry pick for him)

Mainstream media are controlled by special interests and their bubbles they serve what they want to hear to. YouTube Stars become stars by polarising for one side

I think there really is a space for what you're doing so far - someone firing shots in all directions without forcing an agenda on people, and letting them make their own judgements. I don't think many can do that in America and it could give you a great Base of e.g. Europeans like me and other people who don't have a bull in the fight or just want to think for themselves and just want comedy that's not transparenty biased
Doug is clearly a part of the left and fake news!

ICYMI: Daniel Negreanu has unblocked Joey Ingram and the two have been communicating about the Poker Players Championship and other poker-related topics.

I think the fact that the two are interacting is a positive thing overall, and beneficial to both the industry and players.

When all is said and done, I believe a significant portion of the poker marketplace holds a desire to see big names collaborate and make influential changes for the betterment of the game -- and will lose patience when it is perceived that not enough focus is being placed on doing so.

Hopefully this bears fruit.

EDIT: I meant to post this in the DNegs thread.

He used to play high stakes, now that is dead where he lives unless he wants to play live. It's as simple as that. The legal poker sites he has access to are tiny as hell and there is almost no action at high stakes. Is he just supposed to grind 1/80th of the stakes he used to play?

The classic "action is dead", or "stakes are too low to play" BS these former HS guys have been using forever. There is always 10/20+ 6m going on on US sites. Also he lives in LV right? Pretty sure he could easily be playing some big live games. If he just doesn't want to play anymore that's fine, but those excuses (not saying he's said them) are BS imo.

In other news, Doug just lost that ridiculously ill-advised two year BTC never dropping below $6K bet. Sell order on Binance for $5,984.

Poker player puts the spotlight on cheating/collusion in poker due to a recent event.

Cheater goes on twitter to defend other cheaters.

Cheater gets called out for being a cheater by the poker player.

Poker player is in the wrong?

Does mizzi have some pre existing relationship with the couple that incentivized him to question polks criticism? This is something that needs to be disclosed before the twitter battle continues.
