He'd be crazy to. His channel is growing like crazy and he can use it to attract more people to his poker training site. People trying to make money to crypto should be an interesting potential client pool for his poker training website, and normally it would be hard/expensive to reach that audience.

Athene's case is a bit special. I don't think Athene was trying to scam anyone, but he had very poor ****ing judgement in the way he presented everything. You could take out long chunks out of his stream and it would exactly like what an actual scammer does. You can't really blame Twitch for taking action.

This isn't new for Athene, he has always done stuff like this to atract attention. The difference now is that (1) his fanbase had dwindled so much that he'll have a harder time getting away with it and (2) he was actually claiming stuff like crazy financial returns to generate hype now, which is a lot more sensitive from a legal point of view than claiming you're the best poker pro or have figured out the meaning of life.
I quite like Tai Lopez. I have a soft spot for long vids on topics I'm interested in front of a flipchart or white board

I still don't understand what he was doing with the BTC vid with 2 pizzas and a bundle of cash which Doug dissected. 'Don't let yourself be the guy with the pizzas!'

I think the point of that anecdote is to tap into the common fear of missing out. It's good to inspire people to take leaps of faith when you're selling a dream.

No way Jose! How can you even trust them to really tell you everything they know? I bet you Dougie and Andre make 100k each in a week. "Thanks, suckahs!"

Maybe if you give it more than 24 hours, especially given that the course is over 30 hours long.

For one, they are both semi-retired since there are few punters willing to sit and play poker with either of them. Only a top ten player would have the ballz to sit and play them and expect significant EV.

RE: The 2nd Biggest Pot of Educa-p0ker's Career https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q5ae6IwheCQ

How did Educa determine that completely eliminating his preflop fold equity was worth not making his range "seem very strong (AK/JJ+)." 4betting 2.48x vs a 3bet and a cold call doesn't exactly scream weakness btw. It would be nice if Educa would give us a range of what he's making this play with, and maybe Kanu's 3b/overcall range.

The postflop analysis is basically Trueteller, supposedly the best player in the world [source: Educa-p0ker], wouldn't play his value hands like this so I call. Valuable stuff.

I mean yeah? TT's very strong hands that crush equity benefit more (yield more EV) by betting smaller to lure in educa's weaker hands and TT's combo draw middling to strongish hands benefit more from bombing to guarantee full equity realisation in a 4bet pot.

right, one of the best players in the world battling 3handed at the highest stakes is going to be so imbalanced that he's going to size one way only with strong hands and size another way with his draws...

"i had a read so i called"

great stuff

Man, this hand is above my pay grade.

So educa underreps his exact holding of AA and then flats the flop because he admits he does not hold many nut combos?

Then TT figures out his JJ is far enough down in the range he would have on this turn to make it an all-in polar bluff candidate.

Educa takes all of this into account and decides a call is +EV, which I guess it was?

Yeah the audio was way too low, and the vid is just him replaying some of his largest pots ever.

Hey Doug

Seeing a lot on social media about Annie Duke, she is back with a new book that her publishers are pushing to various podcasters and some news sites too.

Would it be possible to do a 5 min video on her past behaviour to warn people? Obv her being on Apprentice and winning some tournaments 10 years ago means that some in the mainstream see her as some kind of authority on poker still when she is just a scam artist.

You are probably the only person with the reach to get this information out to a non poker audience.

That's a good idea AKyouwin. I think a video about Annie Duke has a lot of comedic potential too.

Just checked Amazon. Her book is not about poker. It's about general decision making using poker as an analogy.

What are you concerned with exactly? That this book is a scam in someway?

After Epic tanked, she just disappeared from the poker world. No cashes since 2011. Assume she hasn't played any events either. No apologies, nothing.

She is a scammer, and throughout her poker career she was aligned with companies and organisations that had very dodgy reputations.

If bought a car from a dealership that turned out to be crap, would you just leave it if a couple of years later said dealership started selling motorbikes?

That turn Q actually was an excellent hand for a set to shove, since Educa probably has an Ace in his hand. For a pot that size, it actually pays for Trueteller to protect his hand, if he has a set. Trueteller's handrange was AK, QQ, TT, but most likely exactly what he had, a bluff/semi-bluff with JJ. AK was a possibility since a shove on the turn can be both to protect his hand, and to bluff out Aces. In that spot, those are literally the only 4 hands he could possibly have had, to call those bets preflop. JJ is actually the most likely hand, in my opinion, based on the weak bet on the flop, and the super-aggressive shove on the turn. But hey, he's one of the best in the world. He probably thought it was best to put maximum pressure, in that spot, no matter what.

I wonder if Isildur would have called that shove.
