I know a lot of people want to see me keep playing but I cant keep doing something I dont enjoy to make other people happy.

I do feel bad that many of my fans feel sad they wont get to see me play anymore, but at some point this chapter of my life has to end and it seems likely to me that point is now. Luckily poker is pretty easy to get back into if I ever change my mind
LOL

DP gonna be getting DPd on Grindr to pay teh rent?

well you go to the point where it ceases to be profitable and starts to cause a headache. you know the phrase "cut your losses" right?

well there is a reason no one ever says "you need to get out now and cut your profits" which seems to be your advice to polk

(deliberately ignoring your made up numbers and net worth/happiness red herring)

Despite his net worth he's young and the real issue is going to be managing his burn rate of wealth. He apparently made a killing from Crypto and most people will lose on it. Same with Poker. It's a difficult proposition to return to these types of endeavors and again make a lot of $$ from them versus all the other negative outcomes.

It's extremely hard to come into a lot of 'easy money' and then hold onto it. That's the real Doug Polk Challenge right there. He seems smart enough to do so.

Is this a joke discussing how a multi millionaire will survive in the future? Rest of the world survives sometimes living from paycheck to paycheck every month im sure he will be fine.

He has probably invested his money wisely and it will continue to grow for him. I will just miss his contributions to Upswing. I’d love more than nothing to be able to play him heads up live and pick his brain in the process. Learn his Jedi mind tricks for myself. I know for a fact I will win a bracelet or two next summer and I have Doug, Ryan, and the others at Upswing to thank for that.
Good luck, but "I know for a fact" and "I will win a [tournament]" are mutually exclusive

Doug will be fine. I watched a lot of his vids, and it actually got me back into online poker (havent played since black friday)

He seems like a cool dude and he is definatly good in front of the camera - so im sure he can do some poker show or something in the future if he wanted to. He will be fine IMO (in terms of his career)

anyways - thanks doug - goodluck in whatever you do. *sniff*

I agree. I dont know if he wants to do much poker commentary, but I think one of the best things he did last year was hosting the King of the Hill match with The Manz #OneChugDoug

What Doug doesn't know is that he will never know something so well as poker, because he has spent his prime time on it. And with expensive tanktops and kate doesn't look cheap, few million is not so much. So see ya on the felt

He can probably make a higher hourly than playing poker, by being a poker commentator and a non-executive director of a poker related company and with it have no downside or variance.

With all of the existing revenue streams he has, plus any new business or lifestyle ventures he is planning, it really does make sense for him to move out of playing poker, an activity that aside from providing entertainment for the likes of us, is not particularly contributing much to humanity nor to his own growth as a person.

Wow, the threat of Luke Schwartz stoving his head in has really made him quit!?!

Suppose he was gonna bump into him someplace better to eliminate that risk and just quit teh pokers for good.

LMFAO what a pussy!
