However, it still feels like he's squirming out of his earlier comments and spinning things to make it seem like not such a big deal. He's still trying to argue that in certain situations high rake will lead to amateurs having more fun because there's nobody there trying to make a solid profit, which is still nonsense.

He completely ignores the fact that there are different stakes and that generally amateurs play lower stakes or even no money games until they feel they're ready for the challenge of higher stakes and facing down some pro players. That's how the poker eco-system works and raising rake in any game doesn't really drive pros away so much as it drives all players away. It's tough enough in 2018 to make any profit at all without having to pay a huge tax on your games.

Imagine if you liked another game, like chess for example, and someone tried to argue pros are no good, let's get rid of them and then everyone can enjoy just playing for fun and not getting humiliated. Ridiculous.
Spot on. DNegs *public* position (obviously not his real beliefs) is indefensible.

Plus, not all small stakes amateurs have resigned themselves from day 1 to never beating the game.

Also, part of Pokerstars' strategy is clearly to aggressively recruit lower skill players to poker in order to also tempt them into no/lower skill / bigger house edge games, e.g. casino games.

+1 kinda. I'd watch regardless but part of the fun is to keep repeating the jokes as long as it's still relevant. Hope you don't find this sensitivity too much on the crypto channel, Doug. Those are very enjoyable because of the call back jokes.

Yeah I agree, Doug was poking fun most of the time but I'm guessing it was more the negative feedback loop he got stuck in after. People complain, he has to respond, they respond and on and on. Posting Luke's chart on his wall was hilarious though, worth it.

I guess one issue is Doug has a platform to make comments to a wide audience whenever he likes. If he attacks someone, they don't necessarily have the time or resources to respond in kind. That means Doug's shtick can come across as bullying.

Case in point was the swipe he took at Berkey for bailing on a televised game. Berkey had to go to some effort to appear on podcasts to make light and respond to it all. His response was great, but not everyone is going to have the ability to retort so well.

Doug's videos in general, at least IMHO, have always been super funny and hilarious to watch. One of the very very best Poker YouTubers and overall (Poker) personalities hands down.

Funny enough, the scammers and charlatans that have been mocked on the crypto channel (and their fans) are making the exact same complaints as DNegs and Berkey.

Nothing wrong with the tone of the channel imo. Keep hammering away Doug.

When someone pulls some BS in the poker community make a hilarious video calling them out on that ****. Those are my favorite.

I will miss these videos for sure. It is so rare that someone can look at themselves and the rest of life and approach it with honesty, humor, and some sarcasm. The PC police ruin everything with their inability to rationally approach the world outside of themselves.

Waylp. That really sucks.

Personally I think Doug's videos were great for the game. He's very good at what he does (both YouTube and poker).

Good luck in politics, Doug. If you need help in guerrilla strategy shoot me a message; I'm still thankful you staked me at nl50 11 years ago.

Going into politics as a relatively young man/woman is far more likely to have a negative impact on the person's life than a positive one.

Far better to go into politics much later in life (~45+) as you've locked up and banked your first 45 years so it can never be taken away from you.

A ~45+ year old will have more experience, a better perspective, and a better understanding of the balance between idealism and what is actually possible to change in the world. A young man/woman cannot possibly have this.

I wish Doug good luck in politics and am sure he'll do a great job.

He's already a better politician than Pelosi, Waters and Feinstein combined so why wait?

Pretty sure he explained why in the first sentence. Then he expanded on it farther in the second, third, and fourth sentences.

I watched the Richard Heart video.

He mentioned that Craig Wright and Kim Dotcom exhibited two telltale signs of being shady-1)they changed their names and 2) they had been involved in lawsuits for being scammy.

Yea not sure about Richard Heart's credentials. It was interesting, but he could be a classic crypto scammer, based on my research after I watched the podcast.

That Richard Heart interview was very interesting. I will probably gamble a small amount on his coin, when it happens. He is clearly a crypto gangsta, but that may not be a bad thing.
