Good apology.
Children should always be off-limits.

Joke without the pic was fine, it was a bad and offensive joke but that's OK. Jokes can be bad and offensive. Combining it with a picture of a couple of kids he took without permission shows very poor morals, but he apologized. What else do you guys want him to do? You can still think he's an idiot but why press things further?

This is a derail, but it is terrible to make fun of disabled kids. It is not their fault they are brought into the world with these challenges and there is a special place in hell for making fun of these people who will have such a long struggle ahead of them.
Your post is worded very strong and I completely disagree. Nothing is so bad that you can't make a joke about it. How horrible/discriminating would that be? You are basicly saying to handicapped kids "you guys are so bad off we should never make a joke about it. Your situation is just too sad". What would you say to a handicapped kid that is hurt by your comment?

Context is everything, a joke about something as simple as relationships between men and women can be incredibly offensive and a joke about handicapped kids can be a great joke.

Depends on who is making the joke and via what vehicle/platform. If you see a comedian on stage who's known for having little or no boundaries on the targets of his/her humour then fine, but if it's someone whose primary trade a)is not comedy and b)doesn't come with an advance warning of their style of comedy then it's not acceptable in my opinion.

Ryan Fee you'd think has seen the condoms advertisement or something similar, tried it himself but failed, plus didn't think through the trade/vehicle aspects in advance. He's apologised, so people should get off his back now IMO.

No "context" can ever make a joke about handicapped kids funny or great in any way...unless you are 12yo or a psychopath.

Also Kelvis, you seem like a rather intelligent person and this does not feel like your first internet discussion. You perfectly knew that your posts would result in controversy. If you don't do this deliberately, keep that in mind when making posts in the future.

Imo your standards for parenthood are still crazy. Either you believe in some crazy genes-bull**** or you believe that 80% of people are not capable of raising children.

If it's the first, this simply isn't true/necessary for evolution/gene selection to do its work. If it's the second, this seems crazy. Do you think that 80% of the produced adults of our society are bad for society in some way?

You're being oddly specific but I can kinda see where you are coming from. I'll agree that extremely offensive jokes in general mostly only work if they're done in a private context with people you know very well or by professional comedians (which is basicly the same as you say). But I think that's more the result of people being capable of making good jokes on such delicate subjects have the social awareness that they should not make those type of jokes before knowing their audience .

Not 12yo and not a psychopath. Jokes on handicapped kids have actually been commercialized very successfully in South Park. Is anyone that is not 12yo and has laughed at that a psychopath? You are probably talking about 10s of millions of people, most of them living a normal life with a job and kids of their own.

Everyone ****ting on Fees (myself included) but no-one thinks to bring up how sick you have to be to actively discuss the details of a 72 game and then proceed to get 72 and make an absurd PF 3bet...

Taking photos of kids and his age are the aggravating factors for me. The joke is open to interpretation so you have to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Doug's podcast with Papi
Basically says he got almost 0 growth on highly viewed batch of videos
That upswing is running and he's famous already
And that he had the best year money wise
Focuses on Crypto some
And generally feels a bit lost as to his next direction
Possibly politics down the line
Felt like a coming of age movie in the podcast
Hope we can keep him making poker vids

Doug...

just watched latest PNIA polkerhand. great as always !

take this fwiw, but wife beater tank top look is just bad.

not good for your brand, unless you plan to branch of into selling clicks for hunting equipment or mobile home replacement parts

(no disrespect for people that like to hunt or live in a mobile home... NVG needs to remain judge free, safe zone)

The channel is still growing just at a much slower rate than earlier this year. Which isn't surprising since there are just so many people interested in poker. And by now everyone knows who Doug is. Even DNegs has only around 143k (Doug has about 149k). The sudden rise in subscribers in spring might also be related to Doug's switch from Twitch to youtube.

Lately I feel like there has been a drop both of quantity and of quality in the videos, it's just not as fun anymore as in the past. The clickbait (titles and thumbnails) is cancerous at this point, then there's the usual desperate monthly video whining about Tom Dwan, and after dozens of hand reviews, polker hands natually also isn't as interesting anymore.

The main reason though is that it's not a "fun" channel anymore but a "business" channel. Like Doug said on the pod, he's trying to get on all the TV shows just to promote his brand. He barely does comedy videos anymore or anything just for the lulz because it doesn't generate profit. So basically there's been a slow transition from when the focus was on entertaining the viewer till now with the focus on clickbait-money-business. Sure, Upswing has always been promoted on the channel but it wasn't a problem since it was still very entertaining. The drop of quantity and quality of the videos shows that Doug just isn't as interested in the channel anymore and that has become pretty noticeable lately. It's fine that you have a financial interest in your channel but if money becomes more important than the viewer that's obviously a problem. On the pod you also said something like, "yeah it's only a small channel in comparison to others" - dude, thousands of people regularly watch your videos. Statements like that come across like you don't care about your viewers.

What I find interesting is that I'm also not really watching the videos of the livegames with Doug himself. Not sure why but my best guess is that I - as many others on youtube - are mainly playing online. So when Doug was still playing on twitch or online in general probably more people were able to relate to that whole experience. My favourite moment was the WCOOP with OTB last fall and the microstakes challenge is what got me into the channel in the first place. Don't know what happened to the challenge and Doug already confirmed that he's not going to play the WCOOP...

I still do enjoy the content though and although I've been critical of Doug and various statements he has made recently I honestly hope this comment is somewhat helpful for you.

While all of that is probably correct, the main reason it's correct is due to the fact that in the poker world there's usually a video's worth of content once every few months.

I mean if he'd stayed with the "this week on 2p2" format as he had planned I have no idea what he would've done. There's simply not that much newsworthy stuff.
