Nick and Ryan do an amazing job with HCL. I would rather hang myself then listen to those annoying announcers on the Lodge poker stream.

Judge: Mr Polk, you were at one time the best no limit hold ‘em player in the entire world?

DP: Yes your honor , well maybe I couldn’t beat Jungleman heads-up

Judge: You must be very smart and have a high intelligence to have been able to do this

DP: Yes your honor

Judge: and you mean to tell me you didn’t know 20% guaranteed return was a scam?!

DP: no your honor, I thought it was legit

Judge: did you do your due diligence?

DP: yes your honor I asked some dudes on twitter

He just now accused Vertucci of bumhunting on his own stream and challenged him to a H/u match.

Fireworks are out tonight.

Doug claiming he has done all the right things every step of the way is so LOL.

Obviously he had no operational pull at Coinflex, so he's using that reasoning as to why he thinks his reputation shouldn't be tarnished. Both sides can keep arguing until they're blue in the face.

You can also argue about his "due diligence" (which was utter ****) and his understanding of how Coinflex can achieve up to 20% interest (also abysmal judging by the fact he has never tried to explain in his own words how this would be possible).

But what you can't argue is that he should have offered to forfeit his sponsorship fee if Coinflex doesn't pay out accounts 100%. I assume he was paid in FlexUSD, so simply offer to burn those coins so his fees are absorbed back into the pool of FlexUSD. So far he has not made that offer, but he has made multiple posts whining about how he'll lose money in the end too.

I think his actions/statements after Coinflex going down are way way way worse than him being a paid sponsor/shill (even as annoying as he was with shilling it).

Got to say I used to be a Doug fan and always viewed him as one of the most ethical people in poker.

I understand people make mistakes but the way he has handled this really paints him like a narcissitic sociopath trying to play the victim card.

Was it really that hard to just apologize and owe up to your mistake?

It's quite obvious he had a very poor understanding on Coinflex core business model and yet claims due dilligence in half of his tweets.

I've followed his content since the early Pokerlife Podcasts and I am 100% sure I will never think of him as an ethical voice in the community again.

Not mad, just disappointed.

At this point, I am honestly stunned by how stupid Doug is acting so close to this Coinflex news. You'd think he would lay low for a little bit. No, he's on Twitter bashing Hellmuth's latinum. I'm no crypto expert (pretty sure they don't exist), but bitcoin latinum actually has liquidity still! CF has nothing

Yup. He's an expert though of deflection, going after scammer Nick Vertucci(whom I don't like) as imo a distraction after arguing with some twitter folks about Coinflex.

The Nick HU callout was in response of Nick replying to a coinflex tweet saying he doesnt understand how doug is surprised by the backlash/callouts when he himself called out others or smthing along those lines

Completely agreed. His actions after the fact are so cringey and scummy. He really does come off as a narcissistic sociopath. He actually comes off that way on his podcasts too. In every single debate of his that I've listened to, I've never heard him concede his side or look at it from another angle other than the one he already had coming into the interview. He really just seems like he doesn't have empathy for other people. He simply cannot put himself in other people's shoes. The Coinflex fallout makes it even more apparent.

Lmao, he's still wearing the hat 24/7 BECAUSE he never sold any.

But I do believe Hellmuth, I don't ever remember him actually shilling it and telling people to buy. Just wore that stupid hat.
