Veni and Galfond had 20k viewers on Twitch . . . terrible Pokerstars streamers like Spraggy (sp?) and whoever else get 30k Twitch viewers when they run deep into relatively small tournaments.

Polk and Negreanu are the two biggest YT poker channels and have a ton of social media presence, I would guess we could see 60k for the finals, maybe 30k as peak viewership on other days

also I am admittedly a Polk fan but he will completely, utterly obliterate Negreanu in HUNL; I doubt that Negreanu is even in the top 1000 players in the world in high-stakes HUNL. even if Doug has now slipped to, say, the 100th best player, I just don't see any way that he loses to Negreanu

be 100x better if they played live, or at least some of it.

Not sure if (or why) this sparks the interest of other people but I find this whole thing silly and dull. We already know Doug is better than Daniel in HUNL and regardless of the results that will still be the case. We also already know these two guys' personalities very well at this point and nothing remarkably interesting or stimulating will be revealed from this.

It's just some dumb, petty, childish feud between two of the more charismatic people in poker, but also two people whom we've seen (more than) plenty of. Are either of them really that compelling at this point in time? Isn't this somewhat analogous to when Pacquiao fought Mayweather 3-5 years too late?

I wonder just how rusty Doug is from not playing a lot of HUNL these past couple years. Surly he still has a massive edge though and its hard to see how Daniel wins this without a massive scoop of variance in his favour. That's if this actually goes ahead in the first place and if it does that it doesn't go the way of jungle vs durrrr.

A three year retired Polk would wipe the floor with the best version of Negreanu. It's going to be an utter bloodbath.

I don’t know what the actual std Dev is for heads up, but I’ve seen the figure 150 bb/100 thrown around. If we use that, and assume Polk has a 5bb/100 winrate, he would still have a 30% chance of losing after 25k hands. A 10 bb/100 winner would have a 15% chance of loss.

I don’t know what kind of winrates are realistic heads up as compared to 6max.

Anyone who has HUNL experience feel free to tell me the standard deviation I used is wrong.

I think it will depend a bit on how long sessions they play for and if they will break the tables if they get deeper.

I think 30 and 25bb/100 is too high for NLH probably around 11-15bb/100 for 100bb poker

Mtt streamers are way more popular than any hs player. People love to see the "story" in mtts. Cash is just boring for most of the twitch audience no matter how high the stakes are. And the biggest ps streamers are getting the biggest audience anyway.

HU is the only format for settling grudges. Not necessarily HUNL, but you definitely don't bring 7 other people to battle to settle a grudge vs one person. A boxing match unironically makes more sense than this joke notion.
Doug has an advantage in HU? Tough, should not be getting into grudges and accepting challenges then.
